@nilbymouth If we trade down the the middle, two players I really like there are DT Sheldon Richardson and FS Kenny Vaccaro.

@RichardRamos uh oh, sounds like someone has daddy issues.... Did your daddy make you ride his baloney pony, Ramos??
@Indy! Their new logo just has a subtle change to it....
@ukraider78 @RichardRamos Ramos, way to be a dick.
UKRaider, Mingo is at the bottom of my list of pass-rushers. He would be a better pick if we traded down again to like 15.
1 year, 5 months ago on 1st round mock by Tyler Hunt
Trade down with AZ cuz they'd maybe want Joeckel or Fisher at 3 cuz Philly wants a LT. If Lane Johnson is still OTB, trade down again with Miami.
Eh, not really liking Mingo. Much rather have Jordan.
@Indy! @JarrodRollins @nilbymouth This is the way I see it, I'd rather take Palmer's 15 mil cap hit than lose a 4th pick for Flynn and still taking almost 15 mil in cap hits.... Not to mention the big downgrade from Palmer to Flynn and the dreadful play of Pryor.
1 year, 5 months ago on The Carson Palmer question: the Raidersâ options
@nilbymouth I watched that week 17 game as Pyor threw wounded duck after wounded duck. His ability to pass and read a scenes is atrocious. I say try and trade him straight up for Cousins. Also swap 3rd or 4th round picks if necessary. I just want Pryor off my team. I certainly don't want to go the Matt Flynn either. Colt McCoy has a noodle arm. Maybe sign Fitzpatrick for a year. He can be good, but just gets into a funk sometimes.
All Palmer seem to forget that football is a team sport. Bad D, bad coaches, bad run game = No QB could save this team
It'd be a waste to cut Palmer. There no suitable replacements in FA or the draft. Pryor sucks. Anyone who thinks Pryor is/can be good obviously didn't see all those wounded ducks he was lobbing week 17. I say keep Palmer and either trade for Cousins, Yates or Mallett or just wait til FA/draft next to find a new QB.
@nilbymouth We don't really have any WR with his skill set as a possession/red zone receiver. Granted we drafted Juron Criner in the 5th round last month, but it'd at least give him someone to work with. Also, Plax is bigger than Criner is and probably faster also. I would be ok with signing him to a one or two year deal and if he doesn't cut it between now and final roster cuts, he can be cut.

What about a possible Plaxico Burress signing?
I remembered that play. I was pissed at how wide open the TE was.

@nilbymouth @massillonraider Thought they were thinking of moving Chekwa to safety?

Most looking forward to Henry, Hamilton, Nix, and Carrier.
2 years, 4 months ago on A look at the Raiders reported UDFA signings | April
@xraided I liked last year's draft from the beginning. I loved the super obvious Wiz pick. After I did some research on D-Mo, I felt that he could be a major steal.
2 years, 4 months ago on Raiders add many more players | April
@xraided I could care less about those channels. I felt that NT was a really big need and we passed on who I really wanted, Alameda Ta'amu. I am good with the Burris pick.
Know what the really sad thing is? I am more excited about our undrafted free agents than I am for the guys we actually drafted! God our draft sucked!
My draft grade is a D.
For me, this draft class is uninspiring. Burris was the only decent pick, IMO. I think Lucas Nix is OL, not DL.
@xraided @JarrodRollins The Eagles are reportedly willing to give a 2.5M discount on Samuel's contract for next season as well. he only has two years left on his contract, but for about 10M a year.
2 years, 4 months ago on Raiders Mock Draft 2.0 by @RaiderDraftnik | April
Apparently they are willing to take a 5th or a 6th for him. The biggest obstacle would be getting him to sign a very cap friendly deal to complete the trade.
@nilbymouth @JarrodRollins @xraided Redoing his contract would be a must. I was also thinking of having him be an all-purpose DB. He could start at CB or maybe move to FS if Huff gets hurt or struggles and Bartell and Spencer are holding up.
@xraided @JarrodRollins They might if they dont get any other offers for him.
What if we traded a 5th round pick for Asante Samuel and re-sign him to a new 3-year deal that is cap friendly?
Hmm, he has Stephen Hill going twice. Ravens at 29 and Browns at 37. I wouldn't be surprised if we find a way to trade into the first or second round, most likely the second round.
2 years, 4 months ago on Mock draft 1.0, by @SethMurphy4991 | March
@Indy! I think Goodson could be better than Bush.
2 years, 5 months ago on Raiders sign Wheeler, trade for Goodson | March
While I had hoped that Campbell would 'get it,' it just never materialized. I like the trade for Goodson. He is an underrated player and he did very well when he had the chance to play. Only problem was that he put the ball on the ground a few times, but that is correctable. Goodson will be a very nice #2 RB. I guess this means we likely won't draft Robert Turbin. Ah, well.
@bakerjrbuffs Guaranteed or not, there is no justifiable reason to bring Barnes back. I don't know what they could see besides all the penalties and terribly missed blocks....
2 years, 5 months ago on Michael Bush signs with Bears | March
@nilbymouth @Jososi @bakerjrbuffs I wouldn't mind drafting RB Robert Turbin or hope he goes undrafted and pick him up.
@bakerjrbuffs Any intelligent GM would not have signed Barnes in the first place. Bush was expendable, but I liked how he complimented McFadden. I think Lonyae Miller could step up and replace Bush.
@Harder2000 @nilbymouth At this point, I am just waiting for McK to bring back Kwame Harris.....
2 years, 5 months ago on McKenzie clears up some questions with quick interview | March
Man, I am concerned about McK as GM....
McKenzie told the San Francisco Chronicleon Thursday. “We felt like the O-line, as a group, we solidified it big time by getting the two veterans back (Cooper Carlisle and Khalif Barnes).....
He really thinks that resigning Barnes helped to solidify the OLine? My God......
@nilbymouth @DonaldJuanes I agree. In think Manny is starting to come into his own and I think he is a very solid LB right now.
2 years, 5 months ago on An historic day in the NFL (and other notes) | March
@nilbymouth @Black_Nightmare @dondiraider @Spartacus @Harder2000 I think that Green and Barnes are the only two guys I want nowhere near my OL..... Oh, I can never forget the failed experiment that was Kwame Harris....
@Harder2000 @JarrodRollins @Black_Nightmare Is a lot of a great thing really a bad thing? Also, D-Mo is 6', he is a bit bigger than Ford and Wylie. Both DHB and Murphy are 6'2. We do have three wide out that are 6 feet and over, but we are lacking that nice 6'4 WR that can catch anything over the top.....
@nilbymouth I can hope, can't I? lol.
Bush'd be like, damn, I can't get out from behind DMac. lol
@Black_Nightmare He better not cuz then I'd have to eat crow. lol
2 years, 5 months ago on Could Michael Bush come back to Raiders? | March
That'd be ironic. lol
Maybe trade DMac for Forte?? I would.
@DonaldJuanes Leinart would only be a back up and a decent one. i wouldn't start Leinart over Palmer, nuh-uh. Lawson, I think is pretty underrated. I think when he was drafted, he took on too much and just couldn't measure up the way everyone wanted him too.
@Black_Nightmare @Harder2000 I think every team has to retain six wide outs on the active roster at all times. I just think that Welker, sorry, Wylie would be a great pick up if we can get him, at least from a depth and punt returner stand point.
@DonaldJuanes A lot of really good players get cut to clear cap space or they don't get re-signed cuz the team can't afford to re-sign them. Ugh, some people........
@Black_Nightmare The biggest thing about Garay is that he has only been a starter for the last few years. So, despite his age, he doesn't have that much wear on his tires.
@DonaldJuanes The point of the matter, 'dude', is that you don't sign a guy to be a back up for 2M, regardless of whether or not it is guaranteed.
Carey might not fit the ZBS, but I will take him over Barnes any day.
@Black_Nightmare @DonaldJuanes I have seen nothing from this free agency that gives me hope for this new administration. Now the Barnes re-signing only makes matters worse for me.
NTs Franklin and Garay are still on the market.
LBs Lofton, Lawson, the Hendersons, Barrett Ruud, and Rocky McIntosh are still available. Larry Grant is a RFA. He'd cost a seventh round pick to sign.
Tracy Porter is the only notable CB left in free agency, imo.
Yeremiah Bell and Melvin Bullitt are decent safeties left.
There really is not that much left and we better get a move on to fill a few more holes that he have, on defense in particular.
There are still some decent free agents out there.
Why did we re-sign Barnes over getting like Demetrius Bell, Vernan Carey, or re-signing Heyer? Man, and Barnes re-signed to a one-year, 2M deal?
1. He was projected for sixth round pre-combine. But port-combine, he could go as high as third round now, but hopefully he will still be a sixth round or UDFA. That is just selfish thinking on my part. lol
2. Houston didn't have too many wide outs to work with in Houston outside of Andre Johnson, who was injured for most of last season. They have an injury-prone Kevin Walter and that other guy, which is why they did a lot of two TE sets and threw to their TEs a lot. I think if they had the WRs to work with in the passing game, I can see them using a bit of three and four wide formations. He Knapp has the guys, they will play them.
3. We can get both a big WR and Wylie cuz as far as I know, we only have four WRs on our roster right now. Wylie would be a huge weapon as a punt returner, at the very least. But he does have very Welker-esque skills and moves. Most likely one or the other would have to be a UDFA though.
