@erivera7 It almost sounds as though we are the Timberwolves and this was an expected result after an amazing, playing out of our minds way better than we should have 3 quarters.  We were up 14 in the 3rd quarter playing exactly how we should be playing in every game.  What took place starting with about 8 minutes left in the 4th was a travesty and inexcusable.  Hopefully this will be the game that gets major changes rolling in (or out).

This is the whole write up?  Seems... incomplete.  This: "Kevin Durant was simply too much, though, down the stretch. He hit some huge shots including a three-pointer in Hedo’s face and a one-legged fadeaway that we can just call the dagger." needs to be expanded on.  The entire part involving the 4th quarter with 6 minutes to go needs to be expanded on.  Everything the Magic did up to that point was expected and should have happened.  This isn't 2002.  We aren't scrapping for 8th seeds anymore.  The standards and expectations have raised for the Magic and for this team to fumble away a win like this one the way they did in the 4th quarter was catastrophic.  I would have rather seen a 20 pt blow out than lose the way they did last night.  Evan @ OPP.com pretty much nailed it in his write up.

@CarloSimone I am of the stance to keep him and let him walk.  We haven't won a title WITH Dwight, why would we win one with Bynum/Lopez instead?  Why live in mediocrity for the next 4-5 years?  If he's leaving, lets blow this thing up and bottom out and hit the draft.  The last time the Magic bottomed out, they drafted Dwight Howard.

Ok sooooo... avoid the Celtics AND the Hawks in the playoffs and we'll be alright.  Bleh...

"The question is whether or not the Magic can replicate these types of offensive performances against teams like the Celtics."

Seriously. Avoid the Celtics in the post season and we should be good. They are like our new Pistons or something.

@CarloSimone I still believe Dwight wants out of Orlando for reasons unrelated to basketball, and that the play of this team means nothing when good, and is another excuse for him when bad.

It's a lose-lose for Magic fans and I'm just going to enjoy this final season with him and see how far we get. At least it doesn't appear to be affecting his play for us on the court during all of this. Howard knows only one way to go on the court: Hard.

It will be interesting to see if this performance was this year's Vince Carter's 40 point game from 2 years ago or if it is a sign of things to come. He already had a solid encore against Minnesota, but I'm looking for him to consistently put up around 20 going forward for this night against the Bucks to hold any more merit than a single game in the win column.

@CarloSimone Don't feel bad. I haven't actually watched more than a few possessions of any Magic game since the second Boston loss, which i witnessed start to end.

I figure if they hit 20 wins before 12 losses I'll start tuning in regularly again. Good thing I'm a Gator basketball fan as well.

When J Rich is back healthy, he needs to start coming off the bench. He's not consistently productive enough to warrant starter time or minutes. He could however be one of those potentially offensive boosts off the bench, with J.J. providing the steady eddie play game in and game out.

The glass half empty portion of this article is how poorly Nelson has been playing in the early season (team high in turn overs). That guy needs to observe Turk and raise his own game accordingly. Looking like a broke ass old Mike Bibby right now.

Call me crazy but I think our system, the way it is supposed to be ran 4 out 1 in with no wing superstar, actually would work just as good, and some nights better without Dwight. Hear me out, but I believe our best games come when Dwight scores like 20 or less. Clearly someone like Bynum is capable of scoring 20 or less for us and would be the only true Howard "next best thing" replacement. I'm saying this given the fact that it's almost a guarantee he's gone during or after this season and I'm trying to make myself feel better.

But seriously I just feel like when we force and feature Howard, because he's Howard and we jsut feel like thats what we need to do even though it may not be the best thing, we tend to stand around and gawk and lose the flow and tempo of Stans up tempo, rain a lotta 3s approach. Just check out win/loss when Howard scores 30+. It's not amazing.

Now... defensively this is a whole nother argument, and THAT is where there is clearly no replacement for Howard.

@erivera7@HoopsJunkie Although the Anderson part of that deal looks great, it's suffocated by the Arenas-Lewis trade, the PHX trades, the resigning of J Rich and the off season Dwight debacle.

John Wall should have stayed another year. UK would have won it all with him and Knight together.

"tonight's T was completely bogus, as the "elbow swing" was merely his body coming back down to Earth. I am tired of Hedo being missing in action."

Even the biggest Orlando homer will disagree with you. That was yet another cheap shot retaliation after a foul by Dwight. No question he gets beat up more than anyone in the league. But he also handles more immaturely than any other player I've seen. Completely unnecessary move by Dwight, and that T will stick after review.
