@jeffespo Ahh. I see you on the list. I don't get the zima comment tho (I have a horrible memory so maybe that's it)
Good tips from a SxSW vet! Thanks for the shout out. Hope our paths cross in Austin.
For established companies I think a CEO can be "lightly social" consisting of a blog post or two a quarter and 6-12 tweets a month. Just enough to establish a presence but not so much as to waste energy or overwhelm the overall corporate message.

@jeffespo I didn't have one. Been meaning to. I have one now. Never used it so abandon it if it gives you a hard time.
@jeffespo these units have internal, rechargeable batteries, just plug them into a USB at night using a provided cable. In the morning they're ready to go again.
Last year I used the kind that took 4 AA batteries, but eventually it burned out. Apparently Droid phones can have a relatively high mAH (milli-ampere-hours). The power charger I was using would get SUPER hot and eventually it burned out. So far the Powergen has been great. It has a 2900 mAH which is more than enough for my Droids 1800 mAH. I haven't used the Powergen a ton, but it has worked when I've used it. SXSW will put it to the test for sure.
Great advice Jeff. If I may add one. Last year I carried a small battery charger to recharge my phone on the go. It worked so well that I'm carrying two this year - one for an afternoon recharge and another for the evening. That way I can get through the day without an electrical outlet. They are pretty small and with them I don't need to carry power adapters or cables. The ones I use, called PowerGens, are ideal for my Droid phone because it comes standard with a microUSB attachment. iPhone users might find something similar but best suited for iPhones. Most people won't need two, but my phone doubles as a wifi hotspot and that drains the battery pretty quickly.
You can see the PowerGen along with my other gear, and I won't be packing all of it with me, on this pinterest board.

Jeff, Emily and the @Chobani team are great. Not only is their outreach good, as you point out, but their social customer service is pretty good too! I had a few bad cups of yogurt. In frustration I tweeted about it. If you're interested, here is my post/storify recap. http://www.refford.com/2011/06/social-customer-service-right/
JayBaer SO sorry to hear about the loss of your brother. I could tell how special he was to everyone that met him. Glad to hear you're balancing your life out a bit. You'll be better for it.

I'll also recommend Buffer at (http://bufferapp.com). bufferapp The chrome plug in makes content sharing so easy and it schedules your tweets or Facebook posts out in accordance with a schedule you dictate.
In addition check out If This Then That (http://ifttt.com). ifttt is a way to to connect streams conditionally. Here are some examples of what you can do with it: http://ifttt.com/recipes

I find your use of capitalization curious, but maybe I'm just persnickety.
Great quote "bloggers are time-starved, suspicious, and persnickety." -true.
