Great minds think alike Andy.  I too saw a lot of positive take aways after this game.  The fact we were still in it in the 3rd quarter after giving up 2 early td's says alot about this team.  Before the game I was definitely in the dumps thinking we'd be blown out.  The team could've thrown in the towel early, but they didn't and showed a lot of fight and resolve.  Eli showed command and leadership even though he was given 2 seconds to get rid of the ball.  The O line in general got a bit better as the game went on, but all in all they didn't give Eli any time to get rid of the ball.  JD Walton looked terrible, no matter who he was against he was blown off the ball unless they had him double team someone.

That being said I completely agree with Kozmodog.  Eli is not meant for this system.  We're trying to turn him into Aaron Rodgers, but he's not Arod.  He's Eli and has 2 rings with the run and shoot deep pass/vertical game.  We got into this mess solely because of Jerry Reese.  After Accorsi's guys finally retired- Diehl being the last, the line is in shambles.  Every OL Reese has drafted has been a bust except for maybe Beatty.  And I personally think Beatty is a 4- mediocre player.  Reese ignored OL, TE, LB, and wasted high draft picks on mediocre to below average players.  Over the years his mid round picks have been so awful many of them are out of the league after we let them go.  Meaning no team even invited them to camp to tryout- Sintim, Greg Jones, Phillip Dillard, Jim Cordle, the list goes on...

Regardless, I wish Gilbride would've just adapted and blended some of McAdoo's plays with his style and still been around.  Because Eli was masterful in his system of leaving option routes to the receivers and he had a knack/telepathy with Nicks, Cruz, and ham to the point we were unstoppable on O.  I used to enjoy us getting false starts on 3rd and 3 cause it forced Gilbride to have to pass the ball instead of the predictable run or HB toss to Jacobs on the outside.  And on 3rd and 8 Nicks, Cruz, Manningham, Steve Smith were unstoppable.  Now its the complete opposite all dinks and dunks coupled with rollout passes.  Eli just does not fit the system.  He is not mobile enough to run the WCO.

The positive take aways for me with McAttack is in short yardage situations and the red zone.  I loved the fact they brought in Booker TD Washington for the first fade route and then even though the play didn't work they stuck to it and going for it on 4th down hitting Donnell after the play fake to Williams was a thing of pure beauty.  When killdrive used to bring in Wilson he telegraphed to everyone we were handing off to the rookie secret weapon.  Here McAdoo brings in the rookie hard nosed stout back acted like we had a jumbo package to run and play faked right to Donnell.  Just awesome!  It's ashame Wilson had season ending surgery just makes you wonder how good he could've been in a system like McAdoo's.  I also like the no huddle hurry up spread style of McAdoo's west coast offense.  But I feel we should mix it up with some deeper vertical passes and give the WR's the option routes/old plays we used to run with Gilbride.  That is Cruz, Randle, and Eli's game.  Having a small bodied Cruz run dink and dunk slant routes just doesn't work.   Randle was also best suited for the deep routes to take the top off the defense.  To me that was the biggest issue of the night the lack of the deep ball.  Especially when Detroit was down to there practice squad 3rd stringers at safety and CB yet here we are throwing screens and running the ball down 2 scores.  We should've attacked them with deep balls and extorted there weakness.

I was also pissed Moore got benched after almost sacking Stafford on the blown coverage Megatron TD.  JPP had a couple nice plays but is still a shell of himself.  We looked better with him off the field.  Ayers looked great.  Beason looks to be healthy and played well.  Prince looked amazing on a few plays specifically where he jarred the ball out of Megatrons hands.  Run game was solid.  Plenty of take aways for week 2.  I still think we lose this week, but at least the games will be competitive.  Unlike last year where we were blown out until we played backup QB's Weeks 7-11

Nash has shown streaks of dominance and there were a few times in the playoffs where he was getting up the ice and making plays he just needs to be more physical and finish has he put it. Every now and then he shows his stick handling skills he just has to put the puck in the back of the net and get his shots on goal or on the goalie. Quick gives up a lot of rebounds. If its not Nash shooting the puck he NEEDS to be the big body in front of the net screening quick and cleaning up the rebounds! Here's to hoping a fire gets lit under his ass real quick cause we need him tonight! LGR!

Worst draft I've seen in years. We would have been better off closing our eyes and running our finger up and down the top 100 prospects. 2 4th rounders on day 2. Whoo! Way to go Reese. I didn't mind the ODB pick yesterday even with this draft being so so deep with WR talent. Just cause I like ODBs home run ability but there has been zero value. But to pass up Amaro!!! Are u kidding me! There were 10 others as well but we desperately need a tight end and jace is top notch. I'd much rather have the jets 2 picks than ours.

just did a quick google search on alex mack and franchise tag.  I come across an article that will just make you irate.  Baas is the 2nd highest paid center in the league coming in at 2.2 mil less than RYAN KALIL and making 1 mil more than MANGOLD!?!  WTF!  Baas' agent is the greatest in the world, and Reese is the biggest sucker to pay a pumpkin head POS that much money when the guy never did anything in San Fran and has sucked here.

Signing Baas to that contract is maddening.  Sums up Reese's moves as GM.  I think the "In Reese We Trust" mantra went out the window a long time ago.

Baas, Canty, Beatty signing, etc...  there's many more to list.  Worst is the Martellus Bennett deal.  Then you sign Myers for a 4 year deal that you probably could've pulled on Marty B the year before when his stock was rock bottom.

The guy doesn't know when to hold em and when to fold em.  With Baas being dead money (what a horrific deal that was) I'd assume he will be on the roster in 14.

I'm hoping we draft Ebron or Amaro.  We need tight ends.  If Dennard is available at 12 I wouldn't mind us taking the best corner in the draft.  Watkins won't be there but if he was that would be a steal.

What do you guys think of Mack his stock is through the roof.  I think he's athletic as hell, but doesn't have many moves and gets tangled up by bigger OL pretty easily and has a hard time shaking them off.  His main move is a bull rush or stutter step.  I think he will be good but some people are praising him as possible first overall- Mayock to name a few.

Oh well too bad we're picking 12th when if the POS Lions could've F'en beat us and actually played in a game meaningful to them we'd be picking 8th.  We sucked too bad this year to be all the way down at 12th.  This team was not a 7-9 team.  Thanks Josh Freeman, Matt Barkley, Matt McGloin!

@ultimatenyg It would never happen as the Giants would never in a million years hire the guy, but I'm gonna call Kliff and tell him to go to the Giants.  Thing is he's a rockstar at Tech rolling in the college puss building a program and collecting a 10.5 mil 5 yr contract with bonuses.

But that would be awesome to see us run a fast paced up tempo offense similar to the spread.  Look at the playoff teams still in the mix now they all implore that style offense sprinkled in with some power running and pro style offensive schemes.  But these A-holes don't think outside the box and will hire sullivan.  Coughlin doesn't like change.  He did in 07 and won a title cause of it.  Maybe they have a change of heart and we get a coach that is unable to interview cause he's still in the playoffs.  But I'm afraid it will be more of the Irish Mafia.

Great review of a lost season. Best quote I completely agree with you on and don't bother commenting nor reading Big blue view is that Linval Joseph resigning is vital to our defense success. 80% of the morons on that site think we will be fine with Hankins and the rest of the old DT retreads. Linval is the anchor of our defense if they're as foolish to let him go which I fear Reese might this team will suffer greatly.

Today's game was garbage. The most pitiful game I've ever watched and I frequently kept switching over to red zone channel as it was just putrid.

Worst part is everyone will be back including KG after all garbage wins. At least the year before we had one signature win against SF.

Now are draft position is mediocre for how horrific this team is. We will probably Draft a CB like Dennard where we're picking at 12. When we could've had a shot at clone had we lost these last 2 meaningless games. One bright side is Cousins really sucks and I think RG3 is done for good so that'll at least be 2 wins for years to come.

Not only that but it also helps the opposing defense greatly when they're so damn late getting in plays there is no element of surprise in the snap count. Instead they time it exactly to when the clock is about to run out giving them a huge jump on the ball ending up in an Eli sack.

This is pure frustration and our complaints fall upon deaf ears. Coughlin will be here and he will not fire either Shitbride or Fewell. Maybe Quinn gets the Axe but I doubt that even happens.

Draft an OL u say? Pssh... nonsense Reese will Draft another DL round 1 and a receiver to replace Nicks Round 2. Bass will be wearing blue even though he sucks and is tied with Meyers and Canty for the worst Reese signing ever. Diehl will be kept for the vet min. Snee old dear son in law will get a cap friendly deal. Lber will be ignored cause hey we got Beason now and pay singers beginning to flash some talent.

Don't you guys get it? It's going to take wholesale change as in a new regime top to bottom before we see rookies starting and actually playing to evaluate talent, reasonable drafting not ignoring glaring weaknesses and doing shoddy jobs of picking guys up in FA, and biggest of all us running an offense that utilizes our strengths. A hurry up spread offense that takes advantage of the pass friendly NFL. Slants, screen passes, quick hitches, and most importantly use of the tight end in the red zone. We finally got a little taste of that today but too little too late. Killdrives offense is old and outdated but Coughlin will go down with him and it sure as hell won't be next year. The curse of those 4 crap games against garbage qb's robbed us of wholesale change. It's gonna be 2 more years of garbage before anything changes!

been a while since I've posted, but been following.  Truthfully main reason was the problems with the comment page and livefyre logging in.

THE WHOLE GAME FELT LIKE A PRESEASON MATCHUP>

For the first win I don’t feel happy whatsoever. The whole game felt like I was watching a preseason game. Similar to when we drubbed the hapless vikings on the Tuesday night game after their stadium collapsed from snow a few years back. Josh Freeman is atrocious. Worst QB play I’ve seen in a pro game in quite some time. I’ll take the win as we’ve proved how hard it is to get one this year, but that play tonight was nothing to be happy about. Eli is still in a rut. The red zone offense is pathetic. Shitbride ran the ball 85% of the time on 1st down. The only decent playcalling he delivered was the small ball opening drive which stalled right in the redzone. Fewell and the defense couldn’t get us off the field in many 3rd and longs against the worst possible QB play I’ve seen.

The only bright spots tonight were:

-the run defense shutting down AP… Though not much of a merit considering the Vikes were one dimensional with Freeman back
 there.

-Nicks having a terrible game. Now we may be able to resign him for less $$!

- The randle TD grab was amazing as he abused that CB. However they should’ve racked up 400 plus yards against that secondary. Instead eli missed guys all night

Peyton Hillis He looked good and was hitting the hole hard and driving up field for some nice YAC!

-Josh Brown didn’t miss a field goal

This team still can not execute.  The playcalling on both sides of the ball is atrocious we can barely get any sacks.  Jason Hatcher on the Cowboys has as many sacks as our entire defense.  That is sad.  Kansas City has 6 times the amount of sacks as us 36-6.  This is not Giant football.

Pugh is a mid round serviceable talent rated at a 3-4 using the old scale we have here.

Beatty was not worth the money or albatross deal we signed him to another reach by Reese and a last ditch effort when we should've planned better with OL to build our team with

Baas has always sucked.

WHY CAN"T MOORE SNIFF THE FIELD ALL THE GUY DOES IS MAKE PLAYS!!

I will be going to the Giants-Girls game so I hope for one more win at that game and maybe a win against the Eagles next week.  Then hope they lose out for Clowney and shitbride to get the axe!

Great Posts and Points all year.  Really liked the film breakdown and analysis, especially when I don't have time to replay as many games as I used to.  As been said the hunger issue and overall team complacency with winning last year has been the downfall going down the stretch.  Coupled with a "we've been here last year and were able to dig ourselves out and get on a huge roll" sense of over confidence hurt them when they were put in 14-0 holes on the road.

However, I've said it once, I've said it twice, and now I will say it thrice!!  TYNES IS HORRENDOUS!  If it wasn't for that piece of shiot we'd be NFC East Champs right now and be 5-1 in the division instead of 3-3.  Yes the offense carried us in the 2011 super bowl run and we never seemed to have the ability to score at will when we needed too like in years past.  But if we just had a kicker we'd have the NFC East crown.  (17-16 and a missed chip shot, and 19-17 and a missed 49 yarder, and the reason Coughlin aired it out to Barden causing the PI on 3rd down is cause he couldn't trust Tynes to kick a 39 yarder!  I don't think any of use would've trusted Tynes there too).  Similarly, in the Super Bowl I was ecstatic AB fell into the end zone to secure a TD instead of resting on Tynes' foot.  The guy missed an extra point this year even.  He's horrific.  The only reason people think he's decent is because Shitbride's dead zone offense can't score TD's so Tynes has the opportunity to kick 6 field goals each game.

The other difference on defense aside from all the DT injuries (I feel the preseason injury to Rogers was huge as well as Kuhn) I think if those 2 were still healthy we'd have had a disruptive force in the middle coupled with Linval and it would've allowed Canty to get more rest and be fresh on alternating pass rushing downs.  Depth there was our lynch pin.  Also, Fewell went back to his read react base as opposed to press coverage and pressure down the stretch.  Webster is better in press coverage, amukamara looked good but the knock on him about his arms being too short is ever so noticeable against the big physical receivers like boldin, rody white, etc...

Great points by Andy...  Especially thoughts on Locklear, as he was an unbelievable FA signing.  When he went down the game changed for our OL.  Sucks that Brewer or Petrus never panned out, but Locklear was doing a fantastic job and Beatty did a lot better than I expected (at least he is serviceable).  I used to dog Reese and yes he has been a little crazy in terms of constantly drafting WR's and neglecting OL and LBers.  But I'm perfectly fine with patching together some free agent OL vets and utilizing Jacquan, Blackburn, and Rivers.  It worked to bring us a SB ring last year.  I also felt Blackburn was a force this year and when he was injured and herzlich stepped in the decline in talent was noticeable.

Granted though, for the future we desperately need some speed at LBer and a hybrid defense that can utilize guys like Kiwi and Tracy to run either a 3-4 or 4-3 and have multiple looks and fronts to combat the pistol offenses and have the speed to contend with mobile QB's like RG3, Russell Wilson, and Colin Kapernick.

Should be interesting to see what goes down this weekend.  I think the seahawks will pull it off, but Skins have a good matchup as the seahawks strength is Pass defense and the Skins strength is their run game on offense and a decent run defense.  The skins match up with the Hawks very well.  And a rookie QB on the road in the playoffs is different than in the regular season.  However, I take Seattle.  Cincy has been the real sleeper team.  I expect them to beat Houston.  I also think Indy will pull it off against the Ravens.  The Ravens really haven't shown up for a game since they played us and before that it was 6 weeks before they had a decent game.  Indy's got the young guns, speed, hunger, and fire power.  Indy gets the W.  As far as the big NFC north matchup against the Packers, as long as the calls weren't so terribly biased towards Minnesota like they were last weekend.  The packers will win.  Minny will make it a close game and use AP, but in the end Rodgers will dig them out of any holes there weak OL or run defense put them in.

So there you have it Pack, Hawks, Colts, Bengals all get the W's.  As Giants fans who do you root for this postseason?  I'd say Packers or Niners cause we spanked both teams this year.

The real problem was solely squared in on and that's the inept offense.  The same offense that could've kept this game close yesterday and last week has been painful to watch.  Think about it even against Atlanta and yesterday all we had to do was put points on the board in crucial situations and give our team a rest.  In Atlanta it was the ever so easy drive until we get into the redzone or dead zone (as I like to call it with a Killdrive manned offense and a scottish bum for a kicker).  As soon as we get down in the redzone against every team the last 2 months its run run pass or pass run pass.  Also, we're not talking creative slants or draws or screens we're talking 3 step drops where eli either takes the brunt of the pressure and throws it into the dirt or its a failed pass to cruz or a hobbled nicks.

This last game yesterday even going down 14-0 we score its 14-7 we get a crucial defensive stop and just need to sustain a drive and put points on the board and Shitbride has to run wilson or AB into the teeth of the defense on first down and now its second and long and a pass is next.  Then without a reliable receiver eli is not in rhythm and makes hard 3rd down passes.  The coaches should've given the rookies more opportunities and benched Nicks to either rest or get better.  After the first couple games back from the injury against the bucs every DC in the league knew Nicks was a decoy.  I agree Barden was an A-hole for the  Cromartie PI that lost us the sheagles game but he still had some great games while nicks was out.  He could've been the X receiver we needed.  I have a bad feeling the g men let him walk and someone like the pats or eagles pick him up and he becomes a stud.  Regardless, the point is if we score there or even get a fg the game is totally different we are within 4 points, the defense gets more rest and the outcome of the game is changed.

The problem is the offense has never had that "no matter what'' threat of Cruz, 100% Nicks, and Manningham to score at any point in the game.  Instead Eli looks lost and gilbride is punchless.  He has made zero adjustments and for what its worth the cost of resigning Super Mario (3.2 mil/yr) and Jacobs(1 yr/ 1.6 mil) made too much sense for us to ignore them.  Say what you want about Jacobs but he was a vocal leader and was one of the key cogs of last years run.  Without those 2 we don't win a SB last year period.  And for the 4.8 million it would've cost I'd gladly cut Canty's fat fucken ass or Pumpkin head Baas and still have change.

Still without the offensive threat and zero 2nd half of the season adjustments by Gilbride teams had us figured out like a book.  ATL did delayed blitzes and didn't give up anything deep which easily worked to shut us out.  A fat goose egg with all this talent.  If anyone has to go its gilbride.  Our defense at least showed up in the redzone.  We just needed offense this year in some critical times and could never get that production.  Steelers game, Redskins game, yesterday's game, the eagles game, dallas game both times.  Inefficiency in the dead zone has killed this team.  We've all said the Killdrive is a one trick pony.  It all boils down to Nicks he hadn't been the same all year but especially after the drug dealing, gun toting 1st round bust scumbag aqib talib intentionally leg dropped Nicks knee in the Tampa Game he really hasn't done anything.

The biggest problem of all is Tynes.  Old 45 yarder Tynes.  His leg is weak.   If you go back to my post from 2 years ago and even Andy's we stated Tynes would cost us at least 2 games that year.  Turns out it may have been only one, but this year it was 3.  Flat out 3 games and hurt any momentum in 5 other games.  Could've hurt us against the saints had it not been for David Wilson.  The Steelers, Redskins, and Eagles games were all losses that could've been rectified had it not been for a horrible kicker.  He can't hit anything over 45 yards and that is pushing it.  Think about that our division record would be 4-1 heading into this weeks game against philly and our record this year would be 11-4.  We could rest our guys or play for a first round bye and home field advantage!!  Makes me sick!

Sheez it feels like an eternity since I've commented.  However, I've followed every post diligently.  Which also begs for the question, where were the preseason updates?  Last year there were much more, but this year they were about  as frequent as Gilbride uses screens.

Anyways, we lost the game purely because of terrible playcalling by gilbride (mainly on the Boley Int which gave all the momentum back to Dallas (the fat ryan fist pump on the sideline)), no push at the point of attack by our O line, and the atrocious play by Webster mainly and partly by Tryon.  To echo Bob Papa this morning on sirius morning drive, Coe actually didn't play bad it was Webster whom was beat by Bryant for 39 yds on that 3rd and 1, Webster who was torched by Ogletree on one TD pass, and then Tryon getting roasted by Austin and Ogletree.  My question is WHERE WAS JARON??  I think I saw him on one kickoff coverage.  Jaron along with the DT Kuhn have looked lights out in the preseason.  I wouldn't be surprised if Hosley turns out to be 4 times better than amukamara.  And tonight would've been a great opportunity to get him used to the speed and feel of the game.  Instead we have Tryon out there whom we know will always be an albino practice squadder.

Coughlin not playing rookies is absurd.  Yes I know they tried to get Wilson involved, but there has to be some trickery in playcalling.  This goes back to the Gilbride playcalling why even go to Wilson on a run when we were moving the ball with dinks and dunks all through the air.  Getting Pascoe and Hynoski involved more with rollouts and screens would've been beneficial and I would've loved to have seen some to Da' Rel Scott.  Also, it doesn't help when the Cowgirls know that if they see Wilson it is going to be a running play.

Even with Wilson, I haven't been as impressed by Wilson as everyone in the NY area and media are.  He had a few decent plays in preseason but to me he lacks the ability to make something out of nothing.  Which thankfully is AB's greatest asset.  AB was like a Wizard/Wiggly Worm weaving and wiggling his way around our horrible Offensive Line that was getting physically blown off the ball and manhandled, to gain 3-5 yards at times where he should've been stopped for a loss.

Also, Reese's need to ignore the O Line is finally catching up with us.  I heard Baltimore let go of a good tackle (can't remember his name) but its worth a look up.  Joselio Hanson may not be a bad addition as well.  I realize we couldn't afford Ross, but he did play lights out and was a 1st round pick.  Hopefully Webster comes back and what's the word on Coe?

The calls by the refs were ridiculous last night or shall I say the non-calls.  You can't blame it solely on that but our O Line and DB's should have responded by doing the same BS.  Holding the receivers and tackling the defensive linemen.

@psffur I'd love to see the giants get kendall wright from baylor to replace mm. Jernigan sucks... I know its too early to say it but he does. I'd also like to see us nab Cyrus from the aggies as he is an every down work horse type of back that can catch the ball out of the backfield. Another guy and big 12 bias I may be but broyles is a Steve smith slot type guy that can get open and runs great routes. Oklahoma's whole season went through this guy and when he was injured they suffered moving the ball on offense. Other than that we need o line and i don't want either Stanford prospect as I believe there is too much bust potential with either of those picks as they came from a great system with great coaching and a great qb plus if they're there after harbaugh has a chance at them then u know something is up. However, the only angst I have is the point they brought up about how bad bill belichek wants to win this and I worry the same. That he will have some type of plan. However, i stillI just can't see them stopping our offense and we have the better defense. As long as hey play how they been an keep up the intensity I say it's a track meet with us on top all day and we win by two scores

I agree that they should've mixed it up and ran outside a bit more. However, with the speed of san frans linebackers and there ability to move laterally some of the outside runs could've been stopped further into the backfield resulting in a loss. Whereas I believe some of the runs up the middle were just to hope to get some positive yardage. Just to keep possession eating up clock, as a change of pace to not throw every time, allowed them to set up play action, and make 3rd down more manageable instead of them pinning their ears back like they did at the end. Although, I do agree in that they should've used more counters and tosses mixed in to be even less predictable than passing every down or running up the middle.

Hopefully, baas sits as we all know he is the weak link. The holding call on him was bullshit and hardly a hold. However, he consistently gets beat and how is it we all know that boothe petrus is a better combination.

All we have to do is throw the ball all day. Run it just to keep them honest but hopefully gilbride attacks and throws all day. Alex smith has played well but our defense is playing out of this world right now. They will shut down the NINERS and in the first game we could get pressure no problem. Think of what's gonna happen with everyone healthy!

Honestly, I know there have been some doubts and talk about jinxes and stats. But the NINERS blew their load last week. The way the Giants are playing right now there is not enough talent on the san Francisco offense to run with the G MEN. If the refs don't try to pull the scam they tried last week and our coordinators do how they been. This game won't even be close. Giants win by 2 scores 35 21. Light it up and type it up. G G G MEN!

@Arthuro @vblasi67

Our OL is not nearly as bad a you keep going on about. Especially in pass coverage which is one of their strengths. Running on the other hand they're not the best but if we continue to pass how we are and use the run as a means of keeping sf honest we will be just fine. San Fran keeps getting hyped up because of what they did to the saints. The Saints suck outside they're dome. Tennessee almost beat them and held them to 22 points outdoors. And that was without the Saints giving them 4 turnovers. As long as the against play how they've played and the coordinators game plan how they have the past weeks we will win.

@xtian @Paddlepedal yeah for sure picking in the top 10 for 12 years is gonna make your team good. As the same reason i should probably give more credit to Reese.. I've ripped him before for his free agency gaffs. On record I 100 % agreed with the JPP pick. I also liked Nicks but there were times I've said mathews may have been better for the team that year had gb not jumped us. But thank god for Nicks. We've all seen his talent as elite and it is no surprise what he did yesterday, but kudos to reese for sticking to his guns taking Nicks over say kenny britt and also taking jpp. As well jacquan williams. Overall given our average draft positions he's done more than above average in the draft.

It's gonna be on gilbride to keep attacking eli to be sharp as a razor and fewell to keep the press coverage and blitzes mixed in. If all holds true and tynes isn't put in field goal situations and we score like we should giants win by 4 35-31.

@UltimateNYGGlenn Thanks Glenn I'm always up for Vegas LOL. What I find crazy and I can't take the props for it as I just saw the post on an ESPN blog. But look at the quote before the Saints Monday night game. The guy predicted this whole end of season run.

@ultimatenyg @Sfacheem Besides the fact that what should really be noted in regards to these "rookie" comments is that in order for Cruz to even see the field he had to have half the wide receiver corps depleted to get any action. In my opinion this is TC's biggest flaw. He never gives the rookies that showed game breaking abilities in the preseason a chance in the regular season. We all saw Cruz in his real rookie year(last year as this is his 2ND YEAR), tear up the jets for 3 touchdowns. Yet he doesn't see the field until 3 games into this season. Another case in point is Da Rel Scott. He has the ability to take it to the house every down. Yet he only got plays called for him once a game and it was a screen. This is the biggest travesty of all as the Giants are the worst team at running screens. Though he still got 8 yards or so, but one time he gets stripped and now we won't see him until next year. That is just one instance. I could go on and on about that (ie bradshaws rookie year in 07). Also, how on earth do they not know our O Line is better with booth and petrus. That is pathetic coaching.

@capt george @jfoster I agree with you guys gilbride did not have a great game at all. It was sub par and disturbing. Eli made the plays and adjustments with victor that bailed us out time and time again. Granted having baas getting blown up at center doesn't help the cause especially in the ground game. But when we had the 3 score lead it was prevent offense all the way. Couple that with Tynes missed kick and the cowgirls almost get back in the game. When will they get rid of tynes? That's the real question.

Furthermore and though I'm improperly punctuating and writing a lot of run on sentences. (Typing on my phone so excuse that). I do have faith with Coughlin in that under his watch we won a super bowl and after how we played against green bay coupled with the mediocrity of the NFL; I do believe if we can manage to stay out of New Orleans we got a shot to go on a run for the title. Dallas if TC finally communicates with his coordinators and comes up with an aggressive attack first defense ( more blitzes and press coverage) and switch up some of our offensive plays keeping defenses off balance (ie less predictable kildrive garbage and more like the gilbride from the giants eagles first game this year). We should then be able to easily defeat Dallas at home and then either Detroit or Atlanta. From there beat GB in lambeau and hopefully head to san fran for a championship game in which we should beat them if we play them again. This would restore my faith in TC that maybe he can turn a leaf and make adjustments/think outside the box.

Longtimegiants fan you need to wake up and smell the coffee. This game has passed coughlins 20th century thinking and he cannot compete against any team with a halfway decent coach. How can you call a coach great when we have all the talent we have and are home to a REX GROSSMAN LED REDSKIN team with nothing to play for and they put forth that effortless sh*t show! What does this great head coach say before the other team comes in his house he says "I'm scared!". What kind of message does that mentality send to your team. He can't keep his players motivated, his coordinators run the same Swiss cheese zone, and same manila offense that runs the same 5 plays in the redzone week in week out. The only reason were not at the bottom of the division is because of eli and the athletic talent guys like bradshaw, jpp, and Webster possess. Coughlin does some things well and runs a tight ship. He has also drafted above average during his tenure though that mainly falls on accorsi and reese. He makes no adjustments nor does he stay in touch with his coordinators and improvise by saying hey why do we always start a game with run run pass and then go 3 and out and come back with a hapless deep ball off of a super slow developing play action.

Anyway the list goes on and on with all his errors, he continues to employ the worst special teams coach in the history of the game in Tom Quinn. I could write a novel on his miscues and a short story on his positives. I do appreciate the way he prepared the team for the super bowl by keeping them far away from the stadium and all the mental preparation but there comes a time when pre game power point presentations just don't cut it anymore for a pep talk. Agreed he shouldn't be mentioned with the likes of ray handley in the least bit and as far as where he ranks in giant history as coach it should be toward the top, but his time has passed. In addition to the way our defense has gone in the crapper since the loss of spags. It's becoming more and more evident he was the sole driver that propeled this defense to sb Champs where tc earned his teflon. PS I hate Michael Moores fat a$$! But comparing this article which is well written and had personal references to the giants owners and their mentality is a great piece and its as much a travesty to compare this article to Michael Moore as it is to mention coughlin and ray handley in the same sentence.

@UltimateNYGGlenn watching Bradshaw today yeah he had the nice run in ye end zone but a couple times one in particular he gets a screen has ago much daylight anybody with break away speed is gone for a td and he gets 8 yards not even a first down. We need a home run hitter. Don't get me wrong AB is a warrior but he nagging injuries are clearly slowing him down as he doesn't have nowhere near the explosiveness he had during his rookie campaign and don't get me started on baas. Worst fa signing ever now we all know why San Fran's run game sucked last year Reese should be fired for Canty and baas alone!

@peter S. Furman @Arthuro Pete my feelings exactlt but reese has done decent with the positions at which he drafted in. Except his inefficiencies in free agency and pussiness to bit trade picks or go after a guy they need is his biggest flaw. Biggest blunder was the waste of beatty sintim picks in a strong draft class!! Clay mathews anyone???!! Mauluga?? The list goes on hell even Mike Wallace instead of bardens bust a$$!!
