So, I'm guessing this blog is dead then?

So is this blog going again or what? It's been like the Mary Celeste around here! Great poster, and what do you know? He gets it done!

Hell yes, who hasn't been waiting for this! Now we just need Cleary benched/waived and Quincey to develop mild plague and we're set!

Howard doesn't exactly suck, but he has certainly become mediocre this year. Nothing at all remarkable, he has played utterly and completely like an average goalie, and that's not acceptable. We've all seen him be much better so he needs to step it up.
This team has loads of people who can score who are, like you say, playing like grinders for no reason whatsoever. It's so frustrating to watch such messy hockey from a team I expect better of. Why the hell is Nyquist not on this roster. And why does Quincey keep seeing ice time? And WTF is with the not winning in OT/SO!?!? We have the most OT losses in the league, tied with the Sharks and NJ.

@JasonKeller You have no idea how Lions fans felt in the past. They had zero success for decades, the Wings have two decades of post-season appearances, 4 cups in that time and we are only 1 point off the division leader. The Lions have Megatron and that's pretty much all they've got going for them.

if Pavel Datsyuk disagrees with you, you are wrong...unless you think that gay people should be treated equally. But that seems to be a Russian trend due to coming from an insanely conservative country.
They did play well for the most part, but really the main thing was two completely fluke goals coughed up by a very flakey Joey Mac who did not play well. If he doesn't let those in the Wings lose that game.

Just fyi, "if you’re into schemantics on pronounciation" makes absolutely no sense, ironically :P Never understood the Eckzavier pronunciation, it's just pronounced Zavier, the X is pronounced as a Z. Ken Daniels was pissing me off the whole time with that, but not as much as Smith was pissing me off with everything that he did.

Having said that, Mike Smith is a notorious diver, and has been for a while now. Just ask Henrik Sedin and Andrew Shaw. Do love this article though http://octopusthrower.com/2013/10/20/red-wings-make-mike-smith-cry/

Bad luck? You're kidding right? It wasn't just bad luck, it wasn't just the refs, it was pure incompetency and a total inability to play for 60 minutes (as per fucking usual in losses like these). You cannot blame 5 unanswered goals on bad breaks.
To pull our sieve at the end was also dumb, were they honestly expecting to gain 3 goals in a couple of minutes? All they did was get even more embarrassed by Smith, and deservedly so. Hopefully this wakes them up. You can't go beat a 6-0 team, then go up 2-0 the next game only to cruise for 40 mins. If you do that, the other GOALIE scores on you. I have no sympathy because they have already proved this season that they are better than this total shambles we saw last night.
@Twig @shortguy91 Sometimes I think a sack of potatoes on a toboggan with a helmet glued on would be better than cleary in almost every regard though.

On an unrelated note, don't do the living apart for 2 years thing, it's a really, really bad idea even for the best relationships believe me.

Today's Malik Report sums it up pretty well. They're just doing the same old safe thing they always do, never taking a risk, just overloading the roster. We need to re-sign Brunner, I don't give a crap about Fil walking.
8 months, 1 week ago on Seeya Carlo - Colaiacovo Is Gone
And good god I hope we buy out Samuelsson, sign Vinny and Brunner, let Fil walk or sign him for what he deserves ($3-4 at the very most). Does that math work? I don't care. And thanks, but I never want to see Dan Cleary play hockey ever again.

I agree I don't expect players to take pay cuts for the good of me, or anyone else, BUT, I do think that when they're earning $30 bagillion like Lecavalier will be regardless of what he does, then deciding where you play comes down to personal preference and not the money. By that point, all you're doing is accruing numbers which you will never ever be able to spend unless you outright buy yourself a pro sports team. Players don't work on wall street, they aren't out there just to compete for the biggest bank account. After a certain monetary point, it's down to where they want to play. e.g. Parise and Suter were offered basically $100mil from everyone, but they decided to play in Minni. I reckon they would've played there for a lot less, because that kind of money is just a meaningless number in a bank account that is racking up more in interest than a sane person could spend.
And can someone tell me why Vancouver didn't buy out Luongo? Or have I missed something?

I knew someone would overpay Bryan flash-in-the-pan Bickell. Glad it wasn't us. This Mantha kid sounds good, let's see what he can do. Apparently he reckons on reaching the big squad this year or next. Doesn't he know he's playing for Detroit now?
@JOHNxJOHN There's always one, *CHUCK FLETCHER ahem, excuse me.

I think there's a good chance he takes an offer based on team rather than money since he's already getting his FAT paycheck from Tampa for the next hundred years.
And the idea that pseudonyms somehow demean criticisms is not only ridiculous, but completely betrays the denial and insecurities of Flood. You want my name? GFYS, I don't need to be accountable to YOU.

Pierre McGuire not only bombards us with constant, useless patter, he also states the blindingly obvious as if he has some insight. For example from last night; "there are too many men playing the puck, and that's why it's too many men on the ice". He is essentially Jason Bateman in Dodge Ball. He is consistently infuriating, providing no analysis whatsoever, and a loudmouth who doesn't realise he actually has nothing to say.
