I admit, it looks better, and it's very nice that it's even free (usually Microsoft is the company that likes to milk peoples' wallets). But even with all that, I'd still like to just see a smaller start menu on the bottom left, like it used to be. Now it just seems like Microsoft is copying off of what Ubuntu already did with the Unity Dash. I suppose it's fine if they're genuinely trying to make it easier for consumers to use Windows 8 and everything, but based on the kind of company they've been between 2002 and now, I'm pretty sure they're only just listening to the customers now in order to save themselves, not because they actually want to. Lol.

This video was awesome! :D

I gotta say, Sonic and Sega Genesis were the two things that made me want to become a video game designer. It was my first video game, and one of my earliest memories with my older cousin Bill. During the summer, I'd sleep over his house like every weekend, and after a long, fun day with the family and playing in the swimming pool, we'd go up to his bedroom and he'd pop in Sonic CD. It just blew my mind while we were dashing through all the levels trying to collect as many rings as we could, and he had his Sega CD wired through his stereo receiver, so it sounded incredible (and still does). My cousin Bill is actually the person that turned me onto Sonic, and to this day I still look up to him and hope I can follow his footsteps to be successful. The Sega Genesis is also the one system that got me so interested in being a game designer. I just remember seeing it in action for the first time and thinking, "Damn, how am I able to control things happening on my TV like that? This is like magic!". Since then, I've always had a passion for making video games. So I guess you can figure how much I appreciate seeing this video. For me, things are going to be changing a lot throughout my life-- I'll find different jobs, go to different schools, and probably date a few girlfriends before settling down with someone I love. But one of the things that will never change is my love for Sonic, video games in general, and last but not least, the joy and entertainment I get from watching your videos. So, thank you very much, and I wish you the best luck with everything and the AVGN movie!

This looks like it's gonna be freckin' amazing dude, thank you so much.Only thing I wanna say is, it's probably a bad idea to try to rush the movie out during the editing process.Don't overwork yourself. I spoke to one of the guys that worked on the unreleased Sonic game for Sega Saturn, and he worked so many hours on the game trying to get it finished that he actually became very sick, and his doctor told him he only had like 5 weeks to live or something like that. xDSo, take your time, take breaks in between. I'm a very patient person, and the world isn't gonna end for me if the movie isn't out by the end of this year.

Yeah, I wonder that too. In the Indiana Jones video, when he whips the game, you hear something crash and him saying "Oh, shit..." like he really DID break something by accident. Turns out that was one of the funniest parts of the video for me! XD

I hope you had a nice Valentines Day, as I did (For the first time in my life, I actually had the guts to give a girl that I really like a box of chocolates and a card, so that was awesome ^^).

And as always, I wish you the best of luck with things in the future, with this movie and beyond.

It's great to hear from you Mrs. Rolfe.

I gotta say, you have a really awesome husband there. Watching his videos has brought a lot of joy into my dull and boring life, and today, even after having been suspended from my job and feeling like complete crap about myself, all I had to do was fire up a good AVGN video and I cheered right up.

I absolutely agree with you that James is genuine. You don't find too many guys who are these days.. I mentioned this before, but after the couple of minutes I spent with him in person at Magfest, I could instantly tell he was a really nice person. That's also why it really bothers me when I see a select few of people on here bashing him and saying the movie will suck and all that BS.... They're just immature, really, and they fail to see the true nature of James.

Well, I wish you both the very best, and I'm really looking forward to seeing future posts from you. ^^

I remember going to California back when I was like 8, and we went on this beach, and I found a weird little cave with a skull drawing on the wall. Ever since then, I called the beach "Skull Island". Even though it's not really an island. XDBe sure to check out Skull Island while you're there, if you happen to stumble across it..... xD

Why are you even posting if you have nothing positive to say?

You obviously haven't taken the time to notice that James has been making over a hundred AVGN videos for us for FREE, and he's been doing a great job at it as well. His passion is to make films, and it's clear to me he's not a guy that's gonna fuck us over. It's pissing me off that I see more comments like this, because I met the guy in person, and based on my couple minutes with him, I know he wouldn't steal our money. He's already bought an HD camera with the money we've given him so far, so isn't that some kind of proof?

@davidsworld3 Unless you work for a major film studio, and have made more than three professional-quality feature-length movies, your assumptions that the movie will suck are pretty much fucked. Look, if you're a true fan of James, rather than being a debbie downer about it and saying the movie will suck, why not encourage him and wish him good luck with the movie? Think of all the good things that can and will happen from it.I'm sorry, but I fucking hate people who talk lowly about James. For the mere couple of minutes I spent with him in person, I can tell you for sure James is not a guy that's going to shit all over us like you probably think he is. Sure, nobody is perfect, but we all start somewhere, right?

The point is, don't be so down about the movie. Stop thinking like this is bullshit and that James is bullshit, because he isn't. Otherwise, yes, people will look at you like you're a troll.

If you think about it, it actually makes sense why you can fall underneath the city like that. The entire environment in the game is really just a giant interactive 3D model that's floating in space, along with perhaps an even bigger skydome that surrounds the entire thing. When designers make the game, they have to program collision masks along the ground of the environment, which allow the player and cars to stand ontop of it without falling underneath. Occasionally the programmers forget to patch up certain obscure areas, and it leaves "holes" in the collision mask of the environment, which allows the player, or any other object in the game to pass outside. I've designed several computer games, some of them with 3D environments, and they all work the same way.

@Nintendo_Frog Your analogy with Hetfield is invalid. In your argument, you say you wouldn't watch a video of Hetfield playing with his toys as a kid, but you -would- watch a video of him rehearsing at age 16. Well, the way I see it, this footage that James posted is basically the equivalent of Hetfield rehearsing at 16. James was obviously practicing and building up his skills in making movies, and that definitely had/will have a strong influence on the rest of his career. It seems to me like you're more of an AVGN fan than a James Rolfe fan, which is okay, but you haven't given a valid enough reason stating why this footage shouldn't be here. Ontop of this being Jame's site, other people, such as myself, are interested and fascinated by this kind of stuff.

I think it's awesome how you're into these old media formats. I'm the exact same way, but with audio formats. I have 3 8-track players which I've fixed and adjusted, and I have a record player with a shit ton of records that I bought. I literally have the entire Beatles catalogue on vinyl now, including the Love album (which they only pressed 5000 copies on vinyl). I actually found a really awesome 8-track tape that was quadraphonic, but somehow before I owned it, the tape got turned inside-out. So I had to take the tape apart, literally unreel all of it, and finally re-spool the tape back onto the reel. There must've been about a thousand feet of tape on the table, it was insane. And 8-track tapes are notorious for malfunctions, so every time I obtain a new tape, I always check the splice to make sure it's still strong. If it isn't, I use aluminum foil and double-sided scotch tape to make a brand new splice, and it works perfectly.Yeahh........ xDD
