This video was awesome! :D
I gotta say, Sonic and Sega Genesis were the two things that made me want to become a video game designer. It was my first video game, and one of my earliest memories with my older cousin Bill. During the summer, I'd sleep over his house like every weekend, and after a long, fun day with the family and playing in the swimming pool, we'd go up to his bedroom and he'd pop in Sonic CD. It just blew my mind while we were dashing through all the levels trying to collect as many rings as we could, and he had his Sega CD wired through his stereo receiver, so it sounded incredible (and still does). My cousin Bill is actually the person that turned me onto Sonic, and to this day I still look up to him and hope I can follow his footsteps to be successful. The Sega Genesis is also the one system that got me so interested in being a game designer. I just remember seeing it in action for the first time and thinking, "Damn, how am I able to control things happening on my TV like that? This is like magic!". Since then, I've always had a passion for making video games. So I guess you can figure how much I appreciate seeing this video. For me, things are going to be changing a lot throughout my life-- I'll find different jobs, go to different schools, and probably date a few girlfriends before settling down with someone I love. But one of the things that will never change is my love for Sonic, video games in general, and last but not least, the joy and entertainment I get from watching your videos. So, thank you very much, and I wish you the best luck with everything and the AVGN movie!
This looks like it's gonna be freckin' amazing dude, thank you so much.Only thing I wanna say is, it's probably a bad idea to try to rush the movie out during the editing process.Don't overwork yourself. I spoke to one of the guys that worked on the unreleased Sonic game for Sega Saturn, and he worked so many hours on the game trying to get it finished that he actually became very sick, and his doctor told him he only had like 5 weeks to live or something like that. xDSo, take your time, take breaks in between. I'm a very patient person, and the world isn't gonna end for me if the movie isn't out by the end of this year.
I consider myself extremely lucky to live in the East Coast close to where James lives.
@RyanSanders At first I thought you said "Pickles" XDDDDD
Yeah, I wonder that too. In the Indiana Jones video, when he whips the game, you hear something crash and him saying "Oh, shit..." like he really DID break something by accident. Turns out that was one of the funniest parts of the video for me! XD
Awesome :DI'm really excited about the autographed photo coming in the mail, and the whole production in general. You've done a great deal for us man.
I hope you had a nice Valentines Day, as I did (For the first time in my life, I actually had the guts to give a girl that I really like a box of chocolates and a card, so that was awesome ^^).
And as always, I wish you the best of luck with things in the future, with this movie and beyond.
I love it when we get these behind the scenes videos. It's always interesting to get an idea of what it was like filming the video. o;
I know you're gonna do your best to make this movie awesome dude, and I think it's gonna turn out amazing! That's a quarter million dollars put to good use right there. :3
Love watching these 8D
It's great to hear from you Mrs. Rolfe.
I gotta say, you have a really awesome husband there. Watching his videos has brought a lot of joy into my dull and boring life, and today, even after having been suspended from my job and feeling like complete crap about myself, all I had to do was fire up a good AVGN video and I cheered right up.
I absolutely agree with you that James is genuine. You don't find too many guys who are these days.. I mentioned this before, but after the couple of minutes I spent with him in person at Magfest, I could instantly tell he was a really nice person. That's also why it really bothers me when I see a select few of people on here bashing him and saying the movie will suck and all that BS.... They're just immature, really, and they fail to see the true nature of James.
Well, I wish you both the very best, and I'm really looking forward to seeing future posts from you. ^^
So the question is this: What's worse: ET? Or Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde on NES? xDD
That was great dude! Now I actually want to see remake of The Thing. I also love the new animated Cinemassacre logo you got there. It's really slick. :D
I remember going to California back when I was like 8, and we went on this beach, and I found a weird little cave with a skull drawing on the wall. Ever since then, I called the beach "Skull Island". Even though it's not really an island. XDBe sure to check out Skull Island while you're there, if you happen to stumble across it..... xD
Shadow CheetahsJeremyJones Yeah, but you just know there'll be like 50 of these! ;D And I love them too!
This was great! xD

I don't quite understand you... Sorry.

I see where you're coming from. But I gotta admit, having him sign my Genesis that I had since I was 6 was pretty significant for me.
