@KevinBayAndersen @metalraider @KevinBayAndersen @FredrickHahn @ksmorin completely agree, good chatting with you. awareness is everything, and im sure i was a little harsh on my first comment :-)wasnt meant to be bitter. i just see it alot
@KevinBayAndersen @FredrickHahn @ksmorin (i put "like i said" but that was part of another comment with the same topic) feel free to look at it, its kinda the same
@KevinBayAndersen @metalraider @FredrickHahn @ksmorin yes, people who go unsupervised, you are correct, that has a high level of injury as well, and yes, i know several people who would be great crossfiters, and are functionally able to do the lifts. a lot of those exercises performed are great, and im assuming you had a good coach, but to have someone (for example) do a kettlebell swing, who otherwise couldn't touch their toes or even do a basic dead lift, is like giving someone a manual transmission, track ready nascar, without even having a learners permit. progressions, evaluation, proper movement... makes more sense the. and the research is out, statistically, crossfit has more injuries then any other coached / directed / or designed program out there. but you are correct, people who just walk in to the gym, with NO guidance is probably the highest. like i said, it comes down to coaching, not the name over the entrance. and unforetunetly, there are alot of bad coaches giving crossfit a bad name, but congrats on your personal success, and the specific crossfit you belong to.
i guess i should aslo spot the likes too, overall this was a great list, ive followed Durkin and Cosgrove for years. great innovators / mentors in the field!
Jillian Michaels is just a face... i wouldn't say she has added anything to the industry, especially this year, and in the past, only putter her name and face on anyone / thing that pays her too. can think of MANY others...and for the people trying to get cross-fitters on here... he should be top for physical therapy list.... creating more injuries then any other gym/fitness program ever.... yup.... sounds gooddont get me wrong, its got alot of people in good shape, but tell that to the people with blown out knees, backs, prolapsed uterus, head injuries, and overuse issues. comes down to the coach... eval is everything... not everyone should be doing swings and Olympic lifts
