I love this episode so much. By far one of my favorites.
Wow. The Thuderstruck Star Wars clip was genius. That was timed so damn perfectly. Not to mention that's one of their best songs ever. Idc how shitty of a movie it is, Stephen King is one of the coolest mother fuckers alive. I give it a 10 just for that.
Oh fuck yes! Mike has been doing an amazing job running things, but it's really awesome to see a James review again. I know how insanley busy you must be, but, if it helps, you have no idea how much CM, AVGN, all of this, has done for me. Hope the movie is going well.
Also, even though it didn't work, that pen trick was genius.
I gotta give you a lot of credit Mike. You're keeping CM updated with new content until James can return.
@CaseySeymour Yea. It's great
I was thinking of a different House too, but not the show (I do love the show though). I used to live in an apt by myself. I didn't have TV or Internet, and I lived right next to a library, so I'd get books all the time. One time I got a book called House. It was a horror/suspense novel. It was ok, kinda obscure. I'd heard it was made into a movie and I thought that was what this was.This though is...the hell man. It's one of those movies I wouldn't watch alone because it's that special kind of weird and demented that only Japan can do. I mean..they raise the bar when it comes it weird, weird, WEIRD shit. Seriously, I have seen more LSD meets an asylum shit come from Japan than anywhere else. Ignoring the fact that this isn't my kind of horror movie, the effects are very impressive for '77. I mean, no CGI, that;s all practical, old school effects..
God...I don't even know what to say to this. Just...good lord. Also..what the hell is with the ad?? Normally it's just like 13 seconds, which is annoying, but no big deal. Now it's this damn Naruto commercial that lasts 30 seconds before every video. You even have to watch it again if you want to reply the video. What the fuck?
I love the end of this. The expression on his face is just priceless. It's also kinda funny how the bag just falls right back down. Also...seeing Bill Nye gave me such a massive nostalgia trip. I loved that show when I was a kid. Come to think of it..that show may have planted the seeds that grew into my nerddom today.
@munamies I'm 22 and weighed 135 lbs from 12 years old.Only within the last like 4 months have a gained weight (way too much of it). Yes, obesity is a huge killer here, but it's not like we're the only country.
@newmadhatter I sure as hell appreciate a good SFX master like Savini, Harryhausen and others. It's a real art and they do amazing work. Good ole fashion stop motion, trick angles, miniatures, all that should never be replaced. That being said, CGI has a very well deserved spot in film. It really depends on the movie. I appreciate good CGI also. I mean image Spiderman 3 with no CGI. Or Avatar (although that's a good film, I think it's overatted). Both are useful in the industry and as long as there's a balance between CGI and old fashioned, skilled SFX artists, they both are great.
Wow. This movie looks awesome just because it's so over the top cheesy. As long as the action is good, even if it's unrealistic, it's like a guilty pleasure. Another great review. I love how he knew what obscure arcade game that was. I'm just loving the Mike reviews.
This is great. I'm really glad that Mike has stepped in for James since he's so busy with the movie. Like I've said before, he's mostly as much of an expert as James and it's awesome to see these. Any real CM fan knows Mike really well so it's a great replacement for James. Fanatastic job man.
Yea, I also have to say I like lots. I actually haven't had a bagel in like 2 years though.
@Quinndelin Deadlocked was separate from the main series. It doesn't really have Clank in it and it's not supposed to be the sequel to Up Your Arsenal. The Future series, which are all on the PS3, is also a separate series that started a different storyline then the ones on PS2. The R&C series is in my top 3 favorite game series, I fuckin love them.
@Khameleon I do agree that it wasn't funny at all, but no need t be an asshole about it.
Huh. Yea, you're right. It's not him. I do admit I said that only off of looks. l've seen both this and the 1st MK movie years ago. Coulda sworn it was him. Ah well, still a great review.
Also ironic that he mentioned Mortal Kombat because I'm almost positive that the alien is Riaden from the first movie.
This is awesome. I love getting to see reviews from Mike. Not only is he just one of those awesome guys who you'd love to hang out with, for the most part, he's just as much of an expert as James is with everything. I'm sure there are a few areas that each know more about then the other but. Plus..Mike has been there from day 1. Hell, if it wasn't for him, those very first AVGN episodes would have never been seen. So in a way, Mike is the reason James has become a superstar. And he's played many characters in the episode. Anyway, awesome review, I love getting to see ones done by Mike. I've been a huge fan from the beggining.
