We always called her "Toots". Does she still have a paid staff of zombies in various time zones hitting the comments on natural birth articles first? I've always commented in those threads that she shouldn't waste her time on the internet trying to save a tiny number of educated from themselves and should instead set up a clinic in Haiti or Southern Sudan where she can save hundreds of babies for women who truly need her. (But we all know why she will never respond to that comment and why she isn't a humble hero working for MSF.)
I backpacked and traveled around South America with my 3-6 month old baby. It was really fun. Having a little one opened doors in every direction in such a baby friendly culture. People were always walking up to me, giving me invitations, helping me out. I had read in a popular travel guide that if you have kids you won't get robbed and I certainly felt cared for and safe. There is no way I could have done that kind of traveling while pregnant because I was sick, bloated and lethargic. I think it's really easy to travel with ONE child, before they start walking, then again at age 4 and older.
