we always take our tree down  on new years day while we are watching the rose bowl parade.

we started this tradition because my husbands birthday is 3 days after christmas and we are then only 3 days from the new year so we kind of celabraite all three with our tree before we take it down.

It is also simbalic of out with the old in with the new.
