When we did put up a tree, it stayed up as long as possible. Usually until the needles started dropping in hoards. Nowadays, I've decided to make a manger scene inside the house, instead. A small wooden cradle for a doll holds a tenderly wrapped babydoll to represent the Christ child. Stars, angels and strings of lights are on the surrounding shelves & walls. Stuffed animals are placed nearby. We place our wrapped presents near the cradle. A simple modern sculpture of a married couple represents Mary & Joseph. I like to display our special ornaments throughout the house. Everything stays up until after all the visiting company leaves. This year that won't be until after Jan 7.
BORDEN EGGNOG - only once a year. SO AWESOME!
The game "Mystery Date" . I remember pleading for that game. I did get it for Christmas , but don't have it now. I did see that they updated the game recently. Thank goodness. Poindexter was scary.
Normally I like to put up decorations at the beginning of December. BUT we ran into a problem this year. We installed shelving in the garage, not realizing that it blocks the drop down stairs which lead into the attic where all the Christmas decorations are stored. NUTS! It's going to be a big project to move everything. Not sure what will happen. Maybe a few handmade decorations would be easier for us "empty nesters"?
