Eagles hired Ed Marynowitz as VP of Player Personnel.

The January power struggle between Chip Kelly and Howie Roseman resulted in Roseman getting promoted out of personnel decisions and Kelly getting to choose a new right-hand man for player evaluation. After a month-long search, he settles in-house on 30-year-old Marynowitz, who worked under Nick Saban at Alabama before joining the Eagles in 2012. "I can't tell you how well thought of Ed is in the scouting business," Kelly said. Jan 29 - 10:19 AM

he San Jose Mercury News' Tim Kawakami's "guess" is that the Raiders will name Tony Sparano head coach.

It's not a bad idea. Sparano badly wants the job, and that can't be said for many of the other candidates. It's not a particularly attractive destination if GM Reggie McKenzie is keeping his gig because another bad season will likely get him fired, resulting in a new GM wanting to bring in a new head coach. So, the Raiders may opt to keep some continuity with the Sparano-McKenzie duo and see if they can build on their 3-9 finish. Sparano is a fine leader of men. duplicitas (1) The doubling of a body part.
(2) An obsolete term for conjoined twins, see there (popularly known as Siamese twins).

The obsolete term duplicitas is defined as the apparent doubling of body segments; the root -pagus is preferred, which carries a prefix according to attached region—as in craniopagus, thoracopagus and pygopagus (for conjoined twins who are joined at the head, chest and hips, respectively).

Patriots signed SS Pat Chung to a three-year, $8.2 million contract extension through 2017.

Chung, the 34th overall pick in the 2009 draft, was mediocre at best during his first five seasons in the league. He was drafted by New England and spent his first four years with the team before going to Philadelphia in 2013 and coming back to the Patriots this season. Chung started 15-of-16 games, recording 85 tackles, seven pass breakups, and one interception. He graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 12 overall safety, finishing third against the run.

isn't this the same Wang that played for us and SUKED ?????

The Detroit Free Press reports the Lions did "not come close" to meeting impending free agent Ndamukong Suh's contract demands before tabling long-term talks before training camp.

Suh did nothing to cheapen his price during this season, and is justifiably looking to become one of the league's highest-paid defenders. GM Martin Mayhew has said the franchise tag is an option, but it would cost a prohibitive $26.7 million. The Lions are either going to have to butcher their roster to clear cap space for the franchise tag, or win Suh over with a long-term proposal.

a Cooper to replace Cooper

Alabama WR Amari Cooper will reportedly forego his senior season and enter the NFL draft.

Arguably the best wideout in college football, Cooper had an outstanding junior year, as he caught 124 receptions for 1,727 yards (second in the FBS) and 16 touchdowns. Rotoworld draft guru, Josh Norris, currently has Cooper ranked in the top five among wide receivers and tight ends.

Speaking Thursday, Lions GM Martin Mayhew said "every option" is on the table with impending free agent Ndamukong Suh.

As in, the Lions are willing to slap the franchise tag on Suh even though it would cost a staggering $26.7 million. The Lions would have to move mountains to get that number under the cap, but it can't be completely ruled out. Suh is that kind of talent. More than likely, however, it's a ploy to get Suh to the negotiating table before the start of free agency. The odds are probably less than 50-50 that Mayhew prevents Suh from reaching the open market.

I have to agree with JB.....if you do not impede the path of the receiver and or grab his arms or hands.....their is no face guarding in the NFL......if the ref makes the right call and doesn't throw that flag.....NBW......but since he threw it ...spotted the ball and then took it back......looks kind of suspect
