In photo #38, what is the name of the colour of the 356 that is closest to the camera? I absolutely love that shade of grey. And that pearl white Lambo looks nice with the big US bumper.
So many choices. The Z4M, the VW Race-Taxi, the HemiZon... But in the end the Messer A7 was the one for me.
mk1 Escort. MK 1 Escort. MARK 1 ESCORT! That car is just pretty as heck. I can't wait to see more of it!
@Larry ChenThank you for the inspiration man!
There were some many cars that I could've gone for... The MC12, the F1LM... But I had to go with the Caddy. Too much madness to be ignored!
Hey Mike, and the Speedhunters crew. Thank you for all of the hard work that you all do. I've been reading Speedhunters for just over a year and needless to say it has become my number one site for all things car related. Why? Because you are all CAR people. It doesn't matter what the scene is you are all there taking killer photos and writing excellent articles. You've opened my eyes to so much more than just what a car is, but to what a car, and it's people, can be. Stance, JDM, bippu, hakosuka, onikayan, drift, static, bagged, and more are all words, pictures and ideas that I carry in my head. One damn day I'll have a car of my own and it will proudly carry a Speedhunters decal for all time.
OH MAH GAWD!!You must give me that S7 as a wallpaper right now! My jaw hit the desk, tumbled to the floor and I till can't fine it. Let alone type properly... Sweet Lawd...
250 miles... I'd hit the Crows Nest Highway here in BC. I'd do half of the 250, turn around then ride on back. By the way, sick photos Larry!
Here's the car in the post.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kKGIKgTpyI
@Jonathan Moore
That closeup photo of the open door, photo #5, is simply amazing. It'd be awesome if there could be a wallpaper of that added at some point...Other than that, thank you for the amazing article and images. The F1 is such an iconic car and to have Speedhunters profile it with the great prose and pictures is nigh on perfect.
Good Lord, those are some excellent photos! Wallpapers would be a most excellent gift...;-) By the way, out here in Vancouver there is a shop that has what I believe are two Lancia Delta's. One yellow and one black with a red spoiler. I'll try to get photos one day!
@Dino Dalle Carbonare
Thanks for the 288 pics man! Also, I wish Terashima-san and the track worker a speedy recovery!
I am sooooo hoping for some amazing 288 GTO coverage and photos and... wallpapers. I love the 288; more than the F40...
Understand that I do not own a car yet. But if I did...For me, and for me only (it is MY opinion) I'd go with bags. Being a family guy, I have a daughter and a Girlfriend that I would love to take out on drives all over the place. To Whistler, to Victoria, the Interior of BC and more. I also ride bikes and love to get outside. Bags would be my option primarily because I can raise the ride height when carrying folsk and stuff, but if I'm out on my own and just crusing then I an drop her down and show off the cars lines, wheels and more. I realize that there are two schools of thought on this, and that there are many opinions and idea as to what's better. But as it's been said many times it is up to the individual to go for what makes them feel good. I firmly believe in this and I'll never berate soemone who thinks that static is the way to go. If the shoe fits...
Awesome article guys! I love the rear shots of the CLS63 and the Porsche Turbo. Larry, for some of your photos you seem to be using a prime lens, which one might I ask? 50, 80, or 100mm?
So. Much. BADASSERY! That's all I can think of, really. Mind is blown.
Question:Is that road part of the EVO triangle that EVO magazine uses? I know from reading the mag (I'm in Vancouver, BC) that they absolutely love the roads out in Wales due to the exact reasons you outlined in the photo essay. Also, your photo essay is simply amazing. I mean really, really amazing. Your prose and photography is top notch and the black & white work just makes it all the better.
Mr. Moore, I'll have to agree with you. The GT3 is making the new 991 a much better looking car than it's lesser stablemates. When I first saw a 991 here in Vancouver I just couldn't get around to liking it, but the GT3 adds the right amount of "stuff" to bring it all back into shape for me. As for the Rolls, I'm with auzzya. It's not a nice looking car. It, in my eyes, should have been a proper coupe and not have suffered the weirdness that is that back end. I do appreciate the honest take on the ladies, it's too bad that certain ones were left to be on thier own for so damn long, and I give major props to the ones who were into the cars that they were repping. By the way, the model with the Giugiaro has an epic dress. Probably some serious coture there as my Lady would say.
By the way, we need more of that Pinninfarina Sergio. Voted best car by my Lady.
