If the Dodgers don't add a "tier 2" or "tier 1" starting pitcher this offseason, then they're really spinning their wheels in the mud. If they stand pat, and like you said, ZG will opt out after 2015, then what will they do in 2016? You're really left with Kershaw and Ryu. If they acquire an elite starting pitcher to replace ZG, then aren't they really in the same position as they were now? We need 3 elite starting pitchers plus Ryu.

No other team can match a package of Urias, Segar, and Pedersen. We won't be outbid.

The only elite starting pitcher free agent is Jon Lester, and almost certainly going to resign with the Red Sox.

So Mike, it seems to me that the Dodgers should really go "all in" this offseason for 2015. And by "all in," I mean doing whatever it takes to acquire Cole Hamels. If that means trading Julio Urias, Joc Pedersen, AND Corey Segar, then so be it. It's a high price, but if that's what it takes, then that's what it takes. Like you said, ZG can and most likely will opt out after 2015. If we don't add an elite starting pitcher this season and ZG opts out, then we're really screwed in 2016. We saw last year that Kershaw, ZG, and Hyun-Jin Ryu, while a great trio, wasn't good enough. We need another elite pitcher to get us over the top.

Look, you can be the best player in baseball during the regular season, but if you can't perform in the postseason, then it doesn't mean squat....would Koufax be as legendary as he is if he was only great in the regular season? No. Koufax was Koufax during the postseason and that's why he is a legend.

What do think the chances are of the Dodgers signing Bills again? I know he's been injured and it would be a risk to sign him...but I have a soft spot for the guy....he's a homegrown player.....would hate to see him in another uniform....

Is it just me...or does anyone else feel really good about our chances of advancing to the NLCS? I feel Kersh is gonna be so pissed off that he pitches a shut down game tomorrow and ZG will be ZG in Game 5....

What will our starting rotation look like for the NLDS? NLCS?

For the NLDS, I'm guessing: Game 1: Kershaw; Game 2: Greinke; Game 3: Ryu; Game 4*: Haren?; Game 5*: Kershaw (* if necessary)

For the NLCS, I'm guessing: Game 1: Kershaw; Game 2: Greinke; Game 3: Ryu; Game 4: Haren; Game 5: Kershaw; Game 6: Greinke; Game 7: Ryu?

I don't mean to jinx our postseason chances by looking ahead to the NLCS, but is it just me or is anyone else kinda worried about the Nationals? Their starting rotation looks like a nightmare to match up with....they have 3 starters with sub 2 ERAs (Zimmerman, Roark, and Fister) plus they have Stephen Strasburg (3.23 era) and Gio Gonzalez (3.57 era)....we can counter with Kersh and Greinke in games 1 & 2...and hope and pray for good Hyun-JIn for game 3....but dang....I'm kinda worried....
