I've been collecting since the late 80's and have a pretty extensive collection. And in no way am I a Hypebeast, but I do get excited when a shoe that I Iike is about to hit the shelves. However, excitement and hype are two different animals. I have to disagree with some of the comments here. Not everyone who is new to the game is a Hypebeast. I've come across a lot of new collectors who are the real deal. On the other hand, not everyone whose been in it for 10+ years is a true sneakerhead either. I've come across several old heads who have turned Hypebeast and say "its just the way things are now." For me, its not about how long you've been collecting or what kicks you have, it's your approach. The way I see it is a Hypebeast, for lack of a better term, is someone whose in it for all the wrong reasons. They buy whats popular rather than what they like and look to entertainers to tell them whats hot. They pay ridiculous mark ups on retros just because their limited. They buy kicks for resale and not for their own collections. They never keep anything longer than a month or two and panic when they can't resell them. They cause drama at releases and bring their non-collecting friends and family members to help them secure multiple pairs. They have no respect or common courtesy for others and will do all kinds of unmentionables just to make $20 off a pair. In short, Hypebeasts are the under belly of the sneaker society and society as a whole. The way they act in sneaker collecting is the way they act in other aspects of their lives. They are loosers who never garnered respect by earning it and think that some how they'll get it by doing these things. What they don't understand is they are achieving just the opposite. No one respects them or gives 2 sh!ts about their hyped shoes but other Hypebeasts.

Over the years Nike SB has taken the Nike Dunk to all new levels, hitting us with some of the most vibrant colorways, prints and textures ever seen on a sneaker. However, this time around it looks like the SB line is going back to the basics with this all white fully customizable blank canvas. These Dunk lows with their all white leather upper and equally convenient clear sole will have plenty of customizers, amateur and professional, anxious to get their hands on them. Continue reading for more looks at this simple and clean pair of Dunks and tell us if and how you plan to customize them.
Remember you can pick up your pair now straight from MIA Skatestop or on eBay.

1 month, 3 weeks ago on Nike SB Dunk Low – Almost A “Columbia XI” Colorway?
This article and its author are a joke. These are nothing close to a Columbia XI. Its an all white SB with a clear sole. Come on, who gets to write this doodoo!!! In what way can these be compared to Columbia XI'S??? They are SB's not Jordan XI's in shape, there's NO "Columbia Blue" on the shoe, so they can't be Columbia!!!! And there's NO patent leather, snakeskin, or elephant print, so they are not XI's. Hell, the sole is clear on these, not icy blue. Why would you even pretend to call these Columbia inspired.
Man, I hate the BS these sneaker journalists are pushing. Dam, let the people who know a little something about the shoes coin the nicknames and try focusing on writing something worth while. Straight Garbage! (the article, not the shoe. The shoe is cool for a basic all white sneaker).
These are nice

This colorway/blocking is terrible. However, the clear sole and materials look good. May cop on clearance and customize them. Change the blue to Black and change the laces out.

Its nothing new for an athlete to dislike his signature shoe, but I'm sure he'll still promote them and they'll still sell. Jordan didn't like 2's and almost left nike because of the design. He also didnt like the X's that's why they changed the toe box. Despite that people still bought them and continue to buy the Retros. To each his own!
