The problem with keeping Tim Wakefield for depth, is that when you need him...it's Tim Wakefield pitching. Along with John Lackey, when you count the numerous unearned runs..they were literally the worst pitchers in the AL last year.
With all due respect...I thought the point of going to a baseball game was to have fun. So if people are singing 'Sweet Caroline' even though their team is losing...arn't they having fun? No one makes you pay attention to them. No one makes me take my hat off during GBA.

VJ in Stuttgart No a thousand times to Wake. Count his billion unearned runs and he's right up there with Lackey as the worst pitcher in the league. Keeping him around means he has to be used when a pitcher goes down and I'd rather that pitcher at least actually be replacement level.
English Sox Fan I haven't changed teams, I just dumped them. I don't know if you follow other American sports, but i also dumped the Canucks and the Raiders a while back for various reasons. Now I don't really follow hockey or gridiron.

The team has definitly entered "Dumpable Zone". *I* wouldn't and never would unless they Built a new park, traded Pedey and changed team colors...but they are very fan-suspendable, and can see how some would dump them.I dumped Newcastle for their treatment of Sir Bobby, the entitled fanbase, and the constant buying of ex-Leeds thugs....and laughed and laughed at their misfortunes.

Sox in the Desert Tito certainly has failings, but frankly this team doesn't deserve him.
