Penguins fan since as long as I can remember. Love all sports but Hockey tops all else. Like to speak in sentence fragments.
Let me start this by saying that Beadle is absolutely right, and SAS is an asshole.
But I'm still perplexed as to why ESPN holds Beadle in such high regard that she's "untouchable." That's not to say she should be punished for her comments on Twitter, as she should NOT. She was bang on in this situation. But it's the insinuation that she wouldn't draw punishment from ESPN for other comments directed at co-workers, even when public opinion isn't squarely behind her, neanderthals not withstanding.I just want to know why Simmons, who like him or hate him, has helped ESPN launch such things as Grantland and 30 for 30 can be punished, but that the Worldwide Leader would find it hard to punish a personality who is on one of of their many interchangeable afternoon TV shows and who left and came back within a span of two years. Again, let me state not for this particular issue, but for others. How did she get all of this leverage? It was proven that she's not a big enough name for people to follow her whichever network she goes to.

A massive downgrade at nearly every category. Even the studio host position, which people see as a "bright spot" has Rob Stone, who is massively overrated by soccer fans. Georgie Thompson should be your main host, seeing how she worked at Sky Sports for over a decade. Give JSB the #2 spot. Let Stone focus on college football and hoops. (The same for GuJo, of course.) This is of course if Fox doesn't do something unpredictable like try to poach Bob Ley from ESPN, where he's not gonna have a lot to do the next eight years besides OTL and the occasional World Cup Qualifier. The fact they've apparently taken a look at the outstanding coverage that ESPN has and seemingly thought "Let's do the exact opposite of this!" should be concerning to anyone who enjoys the World Cup.

Wow, Dish dropping popular programming? That has NEVER happened before!
6 months ago on Dish is dropping WWE pay-per-views
It remains funny to watch Buccigross defend his employer, who neglects his favorite sport.
"Oh yeah! We'll have the highlights too!"
Just wait until the NBA comes back. I'm sure we'll see PLENTY of NHL highlights then.
10 months, 3 weeks ago on Did Fox Sports Live really show more hockey than SportsCenter?
Oh no! Reruns of quite possibly the most overrated show on television aren't being shown in favor of a live sporting event! But screw baseball fans, because we all know yesterday's game was shown before and was available for purchase on DVD while those episodes of TBBT could only be seen live on TBS.Actually, wait a minute...

They built a show around Michelle Beadle. Damn right it was doomed from the start.
10 months, 4 weeks ago on The Crossover was doomed from the start
Beadle got big by standing next to Colin Cowherd and appearing to be the more reasonable one. It's a little odd that she makes a comment about "talentless hacks" when I never saw anything from her on her show with Briggs or solo that indicated she was the breakout talent that many sports media writers claim she is.
Mostly, all I saw is just "Oh hey guise! I watch wrestling and I'm snarky and stuff! I'm not like Erin Andrews and those other female sports broadcasters!" She sure isn't.

Dish Network are tremendous cheapskates. They seemingly get into carriage disputes with EVERYBODY. If they want to try and be the only provider without the ESPN networks as well as the Disney Channel, ABC Family, and in some cases the local ABC affiliate, go ahead.
It won't end well for you, Dish. Without those channels, you're going to successfully piss off most men, women, teens, and kids. You'd best pay up.

Most body heat escapes through the head. Pictured above: Bob Ley not giving a single crap about that fact, because he's too busy being exceptionally good at his job.

You mention the NBA being a virtual lock for ESPN. I would agree, and this means that Fox is going to have to throw an absolutely obscene amount of money at the league and blow ESPN's bid out of the water. IF they somehow do that, then this battle is going to get incredibly interesting. (Getting Turner's half of the deal instead wouldn't have nearly the same impact.)
It's not entirely out of the question. Fox's NFL bid in 1994 was huge at the time and prior to that nobody thought they'd get it. I'm sure CBS was a "virtual lock" to renew there as well.

Buccigross comes off a bit whipped to me. He's a HUGE hockey fan, and yet continues to defend (and re-sign to work at) a network that could not give a single crap about his favorite sport. Wouldn't surprise me if FS1 gave the NHL more coverage than ESPN, since Fox has a stake in many of the RSNs that televise teams locally.

Fox Sports Live will be what reverses the trend, so long as they let Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole do what they did at TSN. I think that they will. Fox Sports 1 has a strong enough live sports lineup that they can afford to wait for people to find Fox Sports Live.
If they let Charissa Thompson and some of the other hires handle the news and analysis sections and let Onrait and O'Toole do the highlights with the occasional dig at some of the sports topics that have been sensationalized (they did this brilliantly on SportsCentre when LeBron first went to the Heat), then Fox Sports Live will be a must see for sports fans.

An underrated British show is Black Books. Co-Created by Graham Linehan, who also did IT Crowd, and starring Dylan Moran, best known as that douchey guy who complains a lot from Shaun of the Dead. It's on Netflix.

And here's your soff call.
Let's all take a moment to laugh and realize that the goalie the Flyers are trusting to get them far in the playoffs let up THAT goal.

Score may be tied but we outplayed them. The only way they can score against us lately is in the most flukey ways. Next Flyer goal is going in off of Laviolette's head.
Slashing by example.

@jrodfoopens I'd settle for an OT win. It's not like the Panthers are in the playoff race, but a regulation win would be easier on the ticker.
