@Weird_Meat thanks for continuing to keep track - you've done a hell of a job this year, and the community of baseball fans online is unbelievably thankful.

@WilliamAllenBethea Houston is absolutely not moving into a new ballpark, and the goal has never been to "win now".
2 months, 1 week ago on Do the Tampa Bay Rays need to trade David Price?
@WilliamAllenBethea none of those make any sense whatsoever for Tampa Bay. Why would the Astros even want to make that trade when Price is a free agent in two years?
@JonJoe1959 Peralta got four years and $53 million from the Cardinals and was in the same situation was Cruz.

@KevinNabors offended? Not in the slightest. Disrespecting a guy who gave his all to the community and organization for nearly a decade and whose last moment on the field was his ankle snapping like a twig? Yeah, this qualifies.

I was a huge fan of renting movies when I was 12-13. I was a huge pro wrestling fan, and it was impossible to find much in the way of VHS in stores - but my local Blockbuster (and Hollywood Video, for that matter) had an entire section for just wrestling.
Now, if I would ever want to watch anything like that? Just go to Youtube, and you can find whatever your heart desires. There's just an irrelevancy about renting videos when you can watch whatever you want without even putting your shoes on.
I feel the same way about buying DVDs now. Really, you want me to pay 34.99 for four discs of my favorite show...when it's on Netflix/Amazon already? Sure, on occasion you'll have a situation where the show you want disappears (hello, King of the Hill) or isn't available online for streaming (The Simpsons, Seinfeld), but those are becoming the exceptions as opposed to the rule.

@MisterMJ BJ Upton wasn't good at all, which is why he was a slam dunk for this list. Ike Davis had a horrendous first half, but was a MONSTER in the second half before straining his oblique. LaRoche wasn't good at all, but look at his last few years - it's looking like 2012 was the outlier, dude was never a masher worthy of $10M+ per year.

@StevenKeys Uggla's 33. Cabrera didn't turn 29 until August. Don't think either is really completely over the hill quite yet. Konerko I'll give you as a guy who is past his prime, but he played well last year. It wasn't a gradual decline like we've seen from Helton, that's for sure.
Hamilton's year was rough, don't get me wrong. But he *did* get a hell of a lot better in the second half. Dunn was horrendously bad in 2011, so a 34 homer season to me isn't that awful. I think Reyes played really well, but missed a 70 game chunk...and it wasn't with one of his usual garbage "wear and tear" injuries, it was a freak incident.
@LeFache Worst year of his career, no doubt. But dude still threw 211 innings and had a lower ERA than Phil Hughes. You could do worse.
@jimboh he's thick-headed, ignorant, resistant to change, and so on and so forth. Caray might make him seem worse than he really is.
