@SteveWoodruff I think the people who are the most afraid are new service providers who think working with anyone with a "pulse and a checkbook" (as Michael Port says) is the way to go. It isn't. It makes you exhausted from spreading yourself too thin, and it makes you irrelevant. Loved the post @bradshorr

@sharonoday Me too, Sharon! I thought my initial projections for my business were low. I tried to be very conservative. And yet, they still proved wildly optimistic. But would anyone leap off the cliff into the unknown without that entrepreneurial optimism? Maybe not....

@BradShorr I think you are spot on, Brad. Everybody seems to think they can just jump in without much knowledge. I see worst practices every day. I am sure that you do as well.
@Lena_M You said that beautifully, Lena. I couldn't agree more.

@BradShorr Great idea, Brad! I agree that there should at least be some basic training around social media etiquette in corporate. I have remarked more than once that common courtesy is, in fact, uncommon. That goes double for common sense.

@TheRelationshipInsider Hi Sheryl, there is. Let me get back to you personally with the information. Thank you!
@sharonoday The first time I listened to it I was so touched, Sharon. The second time was after he passed and I just started crying because I was so happy that she got to say it and he got to hear it. What a blessing for both of them to have nothing left unsaid.

This is brilliant, Rich! So many companies piss off their customers when they should be trying to help. I was laughing as I read this. Thank you so much for calling out these #worstpractice responses.

@Seth Sklar Bravo, Seth! Well said. Agree to some extent on the popularity game. Women might not get listed at all if there weren't separate lists - but I kind of hate them too. In a perfect world I would love to see more diverse list as well.

@DrewCM @margieclayman Your business hours point is a strong one, Drew. But that doesn't completely explain the skew toward white men. Presumably, in a country as diverse as the United States, we have plenty of Hispanic, Asian, etc. professionals who should be on our radar as they share the same time zones.

@Danny Brown @thebrandbuilder Hi Danny, as keeper of the keys for the blog, relevant links that add to the discussion are just fine with us. Thank you so much for your comments.
@OneJillian Wow, thank you so much for that analysis. Fascinating.
@susangiurleo You know, I had that same reaction, Susan. So glad that @margieclayman thought to bring it to our attention.
I think that is an excellent addition, @Ali_Davies . What do you think @swoodruff ?

@Chris_Eh_Young Couldn't agree more, Chris. An outside perspective can shed a lot of light. And if you don't like the advice, don't take it!
