Thank you for sharing my article Shonali. I feel honored. It is my first time writing for the blog.
@Howie Goldfarb Yes, that is the perfect souvenir for her! She would love a pet hippo until she had to take care of it. She is having her first taste of selling to the masses next week when she sets up a table at a local event. I figure it will make or break her when she deals with the public. Photo sharing will be a must when I return! Thanks for your kind words.
@Soulati | B2B Social Media Marketing @EricaAllison @Autumnmthompson @Soulati My trip is July 25 for 10 days. Yikes! Ten days away from home and work. It will be life changing on many levels.
My daughter has always been this way. I was 9 months pregnant when I graduated college. My degree is in Entrepreneurship. My professors joked they should have given her a diploma. I think she learned it at a very early age. I will keep you updated on my trip.
OMG! I heart Justin Timberlake! That was awesome. My daughter asked me to teach her how to dougie......
All I could think about during the 007 video was going to Walmart on Christmas Eve because you forgot the stocking stuffers! That's what it feels like.
Drunk makeup rocked! Who doesn't hate it when you get your day drunk on and then have to pull it together.
I didn't watch the whole video but did you know the fake guy was on GMA? They were talking to him and everyone was yelling his name. They were taking pictures with him and asking for autographs. All I could think was Wow! It must be a slow news day in NYC.
@ginidietrich Oh Yes!!!! I especially like he got them by working hard in his grandparent's gym. And I love they are all in their bathing suits!
If they baby fell asleep to Enter Sandman, that would be the icing on the #hashtags, cause they taste just like mashed potatoes.
@ginidietrich I know! I'm thinking of starting a Facebook page and just inviting really cool people. I'm thinking they have to answer a questionnare before they are allowed. Just like elementary school all over again!
Muppets video is my all time favorite! I watch it anytime I want to laugh (out loud). I posted it to Facebook once and none of my so called "friends" commented on it. Gin and Topics has restored my faith in humanity!
I took my daughter to see The Lion King last week. I decided no phone. We were going to enjoy the show together. We perched in our balcony seats to see people busy themselves with taking pictures and posting to their social network. There were four women sitting on the railing of their box squeezing together to get the perfect "Here we are!" picture. My daughter wondered outloud why they were doing it. And if they fell would that mean the Fire Dept. would stop the show? We had a great time for 2 1/2 hours enjoying the music, costumes, and performers. Did I get phone calls? Yes. Did I get e-mails? Yes. Did I have the best time creating a lasting memory offline? Absolutely! (And I'm pretty sure no one missed me.)
@ginidietrich @KenMueller OMG! You guys just made me laugh! Out loud, too!
Manwich rocks especially on white bread!
Thank you Adam! It was great meeting you. Saying I love coffee is an understatment so walking for a nicely brewed cup is never a problem.
@Soulati | B2B Social Media Marketing I like to find out about other people! Now we have something to talk about IRL next time.
@ShakirahDawud Yes, I did like to go fast. But, having a child does slow you down a little. I need another motorcycle but my husband sells I scare him!
The first thing I thought is where is Yvette's family? There wasn't one person in her family that would have wondered where she was in a year? That's sad. I find Facebook humorous. It's like dating, you are only meeting someone's representative. Some are outwardly crazy others not so much.
We recently had (and are still having) a debate in North Carolina over an amendment. I saw such nasty things written to "friends" on Facebook, I had to take a break from it. Why is Facebook considered a different platform to discuss a topic with someone? Why do people say things they would not otherwise say IRL?
I love seeing people I know on Facebook and occasionally engaging with them but it will never replace the real people in my life.
I have a daughter and I teach her Kiss songs. There just some about hearing a 6 year old say they want to rock and roll all night and party everyday. I've also shown her Yo! MTV raps on youtube (hopefully you watched it) and taught her how to dance like Ed Lover. I have it on my phone so when I'm feeling stressed I watch it and laugh so hard I can't stand it. But, I'm thinking I probably shouldn't have just told the internet about my parenting skills.
What great insight from everyone! I'm honored to be the FBQOTW. Thank you Gini! Can't wait to write a paper and use all of your opinions. It amazed me to be taught how to fail at your business and adjust. We have studied numerous companies and their complete failures and their successes. It has made me think long and hard about what I want to do and how to make it succeed.
PS...I have a brain crush on several people and I am jealous you got to meet one of yours!
