@Howie Goldfarb Yes, that is the perfect souvenir for her! She would love a pet hippo until she had to take care of it.  She is having her first taste of selling to the masses next week when she sets up a table at a local event.  I figure it will make or break her when she deals with the public.  Photo sharing will be a must when I return!  Thanks for your kind words.

@Soulati | B2B Social Media Marketing @EricaAllison @Autumnmthompson @Soulati My trip is July 25 for 10 days.  Yikes!  Ten days away from home and work.  It will be life changing on many levels.

My daughter has always been this way.  I was 9 months pregnant when I graduated college.  My degree is in Entrepreneurship.  My professors joked they should have given her a diploma.  I think she learned it at a very early age.  I will keep you updated on my trip.

All I could think about during the 007 video was going to Walmart on Christmas Eve because you forgot the stocking stuffers!  That's what it feels like.

Drunk makeup rocked!  Who doesn't hate it when you get your day drunk on and then have to pull it together.

I didn't watch the whole video but did you know the fake guy was on GMA?  They were talking to him and everyone was yelling his name.  They were taking pictures with him and asking for autographs.  All I could think was  Wow!  It must be a slow news day in NYC.

@ginidietrich  I know!  I'm thinking of starting a Facebook page and just inviting really cool people.  I'm thinking they have to answer a questionnare before they are allowed.  Just like elementary school all over again!

Muppets video is my all time favorite!  I watch it anytime I want to laugh (out loud). I posted it to Facebook once and none of my so called "friends" commented on it.  Gin and Topics has restored my faith in humanity!

I took my daughter to see The Lion King last week.  I decided no phone.  We were going to enjoy the show together.  We perched in our balcony seats to see people busy themselves with taking pictures and posting to their social network.  There were four women sitting on the railing of their box squeezing together to get the perfect "Here we are!" picture.  My daughter wondered outloud why they were doing it. And if they fell would that mean the Fire Dept. would stop the show?  We had a great time for 2 1/2 hours enjoying the music, costumes, and performers.  Did I get phone calls?  Yes.  Did I get e-mails?  Yes.  Did I have the best time creating a lasting memory offline? Absolutely!  (And I'm pretty sure no one missed me.)

The first thing I thought is where is Yvette's family?  There wasn't one person in her family that would have wondered where she was in a year?  That's sad.  I find Facebook humorous.  It's like dating, you are only meeting someone's representative.  Some are outwardly crazy others not so much.

We recently had (and are still having) a debate in North Carolina over an amendment.  I saw such nasty things written to "friends" on Facebook, I had to take a break from it.  Why is Facebook considered a different platform to discuss a topic with someone?  Why do people say things they would not otherwise say IRL?

I love seeing people I know on Facebook and occasionally engaging with them but it will never replace the real people in my life.

I have a daughter and I teach her Kiss songs.  There just some about hearing a 6 year old say they want to rock and roll all night and party everyday.  I've also shown her Yo! MTV raps on youtube (hopefully you watched it) and taught her how to dance like Ed Lover. I have it on my phone so when I'm feeling stressed I watch it and laugh so hard I can't stand it.  But, I'm thinking I probably shouldn't have just told the internet about my parenting skills.

What great insight from everyone! I'm honored to be the FBQOTW. Thank you Gini! Can't wait to write a paper and use all of your opinions. It amazed me to be taught how to fail at your business and adjust. We have studied numerous companies and their complete failures and their successes. It has made me think long and hard about what I want to do and how to make it succeed.

PS...I have a brain crush on several people and I am jealous you got to meet one of yours!

@TheJackB We have also studied Edison and all of the patents he holds. His failures are massive but he never let it bother him. If he failed, he learned something and how to better his inventions. If I remember correctly, he has the 32nd patent for the lightbulb. He didn't invent it, he invent how to make it affodable.

I worked in the motorcycle industry for about eight years. Same thing....."you're cute and all but I want to talk to the guy who really knows about bikes". It taught me to never assume and how many people make assumptions. Working in a male dominated environment makes you want to know more, study harder and be the absolute best. So, I think if you look past the exterior (talking to a woman) you will find a knowledgeable person.

LOVE the kids! Especially how the one on the right can't be bothered with all the singing!

On a side note.....One of my friends and I use to do the same dance to this song. We tried to mimic Outkast but we weren't as cute and usually had too many adult beverages. This video brought a smile to my face thinking about him. He was tragically killed on Thanksgiving 8 years ago. I think I will go have a gin and toast him. Thanks for reminding me of him today and realizing that I am blessed to be able to spend more time with my family.

I saw creepy old guy and his poser wife. If she's 16, I'm 21. There were some bizzare people on Dr. Phil the other day with the same deal. Yuck!

You know what bothers me about the Tour? I know it's like all tradition and that. But, to have one day left to win the race and you aren't going to race in Paris! Man, it stinks. You battered your body to just say OK, I'm done. Let's just take it easy. Why even bother riding today? That's my rant for the weekend. Hope everyone had a great one.

I am a runner and feel like sometimes I'm taking my life in my own hands. I haven't made the jump to cycling because of my nervousness. My husband has started cycling in the past few years. We live in a small town with no bike lanes. I always have in the back of my mind when he should be home. Last week one of our friends was hit by a driver who turned in front of him. Luckily, the only thing hurt was his $6K bike. After landing on her windshield, the only injury was a bruise from his cell phone in his back pocket. I hope people will realize cyclist are someone's husband, wife, loved one, father, mother, friend. Is their life worth any less because they are on a bike? Is the 6 seconds you gain from speeding by them really going to make a difference?

Recently, I ran with my husband and he kept yelling car back at me. I said, I don't know what you are talking about! Then I realized he has become a cyclist and not a runner anymore.

I feel your pain....It's AUTUMN, not Amber, Dawn, Opal, or Spring. Although, in a previous career I got so tired of correcting a client, I had convinced her there were two girls working in my dept., Autumn and Dawn. Dawn was a very bad employee. She was always late to work, took long lunches, and never returned phone calls. When anything happened it was always blamed on Dawn. Unfortuately, Dawn got fired one day! She agreed that Dawn should be fired, but she would miss her.

"Those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter" Dr. Seuss. I have a soon to be 6 year old, so I don't remember great quotes if they aren't in a children's book. To limit my stress, I tell myself...self, you can only deal with today's problems. Tomorrow hasn't come, so don't steal the problems from that day. Spin Sucks Pro didn't launch the way expected, SO? When it's running in all its awesomeness, will anyone remember? Very doubtful. We will be too busy devouring it! So, don't stress. Ride your bike and decompress (or whatever you do to decompress). But, enjoy the ride. It will be all worth it! Six months from now you will look back and say"It wasn't that bad!"

So funny Lisa! I think you wrote this about me. I've commented on one blog in my blooming career and I was scared to death. I thought someone would place a big black mark beside my name saying"new person here! Proceed with caution while reading anything she writes!". When you start out motorcycle racing, they make you were a newbie vest so everyone knows who to watch. I was relieved to know I don't have to wear a newbie vest, but it is still intimidating. Now, I have written my second comment. I'm on a roll now!

Considering you spend the majority of your life working, you have to adapt to make yourself happy. I've worked in some interesting places. Everyone was miserable. Doing what they hated. This bleeds into your personal life whether you want it to or not putting more stress on the situation. Do what makes you happy and the rest will fall into place! Happiness is a state of mind.
