Fun! Good thing we live on the westside... going to give Happy Hour a try soon. Kid friendly?

This is great! I also didn't know there was an Eastern vs Western omakase. I really appreciated you sharing the cost at the end. Always good to know what to expect for what you pay... darn that "living within your means" situation!

Sheesh! I was all excited when I hit 17,000. Show off! :-p PS: You have some really great looking people featured in your blog. I shall retweet religiously.

Michael Mina was the first place I had foie gras and YES, it has spoiled me for all others. We did a tasting menu there a couple of years ago and besides the great food, our experience was even better because of the service. They seemed to know exactly when we wanted to chat and ask questions and when we wanted to be left alone to savor!

I have three children under the age of 12. I am perfectly fine with an age ban and wouldn't be offended. As parents, my husband and I will make sure the restaurants we take the family are kid friendly and already a little noisy. If there's a restaurant we really, really want to go to and it's not age appropriate, it our responsibility to find a sitter and take the opportunity to have date night.

I had totally made up a story about how they got the name... but the real reason is good too. PS: The food is wonderful. We're thinking of going back a couple time before we tell the kids about it because they're gonna love it too!

Never got into this show... always wondered about the masks though. Now I understand!

I've never been here. Adding to my list of places to try in 2011. Thanks!

Impressive! As adults, we have been pulling names at our Thanksgiving gatherings. A couple years ago we decided to have the kids pull names for a gift exchange too. So, instead of of the parents buying for all the 2nd and 3rd cousins, our kids now get a little economy lesson (they have a spending range of $25-$30) and get to know each other better by having to find out what their cousins like, are interested in, etc.
