@Rhysorwin That's the whole point, IMHO. There are people who will fight to the death that your list of influence is wrong because it doesn't have the expected people on it. Those are the people that are having the muddling thoughts.

Congrats on three years, sir! I must admit to not reading your blog as much as I should, but I do see a lot of your work through yourself and all of the people we both know on Twitter. I think I'll stick around a little more this time though.

@AdamZ @marksherrick they're not looking for the average consumer, they're looking for people who recognize Jimmy. If it impacts sales positively, the money is well spent.

I find it hard to believe this post is about the word "we", but I do understand the point of odd spokespeople - but if the commercial got you posting, it did its job.

If you don't like Jimmy, its okay to say so. No need to hide it behind tearing down a marketing campaign based on a single word. No, I don't think him doing the commercial makes him a member of the Samuels' family, but to have the commercial narrated to speak as an outsider makes no sense whatsoever. People who would recognize Jimmy's voice have no illusion he's from podunk, and it doesn't matter. People who might buy something because they recognize a voice are not bad people, they're people with MONEY, and that's what the commercial is all about.

@timjahn @andrewatideal to be fair, the same was said about Google Buzz/Wave, etc. Besides, if you really think about it, Squidoo already has this type of collaborative market taken care of.

Having to go out of your way to teach something you already do elsewhere isn't really a benefit, either.

I took a couple looks around the place, and I just don't like it...its like digg crossed with the wikipedia discussion pages, but done in a way to make it more annoying. But to have it not be completely open, that's rediculous, and its what will make or break that site when either the right or the wrong people find out.
