Anyone who offers Brandon Jennings max money will regret it.
BRAEDEN WON!
If Clippers lose in first round, is it the excuse they need to fire VDN and woo Phil Jackson?
All teams are motivated, so the Jazz will have to play their game of the year.
Not having Kanter or Burks or Marvin hurts. Any word on when Burks is coming back?
I remember a few years ago, I think during Deron's rookie year, where ESPN dedicated a segment to the Jazz defense, because the previous night, they were losing by 20 and came back with this incredible 22-0 run or something like that, where they stopped the other team for 16 or 17 straight possessions. AK was the anchor, and it was mostly bench guys, but it was pretty cool to watch. Maybe it was during the 42-40 season.
That headline made me think "No, Paris Hilton, get off the floor. That's not what it means..."
And since the Lakers and Mavericks both lost tonight, that changes everything for the better.
@Jennifer KK The headline made me laugh. "Kids, let's together for an anti-gay marriage hate rally."
The NBA draft is my second favorite sports day of the year, and this one should be fun.
@CanadianBraeden I think that's most likely. Millsap came closest after Boozer left and D-Will was still here. But outside a free agency coup, I think their best chance is Hayward, Favors or Kanter stepping up. Probably Hayward.
The Jazz have gone two seasons without a player in the All-Star game. I don't think they've ever gone three years in a row. Only franchises like the Kings and the Bobcats go three years in a row.
I agree. Maybe fans are tweeting him crap to try to score courtside seats next year.
I'd go with NIT too.
So game plan should be double-team Kyrie, collapse in the paint, make CJ beat you from outside?
Amar's right about MPG to put guys on track for becoming stars. There's no good reason for Hayward to be getting fewer minutes this year compared to last, and Favors is still way behind what he should be getting.
Great podcast, guys. Was that Braeden's harddrive humming?
"This Jazz team has enough potential already – Derrick Favors, Enes Kanter, Alec Burks, and Gordon Hayward all represent the potential future for Utah. This team doesn’t need more potential; this team needs some solid veterans that know the game of basketball" - like the starting lineup? - "and know how to win in the NBA." Ah, there's the rub.
A 6'7" power forward putting up 15 and 7 is not a max-money player. Maybe a year or two ago, but I really think teams are going to be smarter with their money from here on out. If anyone offers him more than $10 million a year, the Jazz have to let him walk.
