Hi, Davina! You're right of course. No one needs to have 40 reasons why message mapping is a strategy b/c even with ONE, they need it! And, I agree...we are needed to help clients "make better stuff!"

@3HatsComm Hi, Davina! I missed that blog post you wrote on message mapping! Please attach that here! Of course, I have missed the last 5 months of pretty much everything with my head in the sand!  That smoker thing is a huge conundrum. I went to French Lick Springs, IN (you know, the hometown of Larry Bird, former Pacer) and the balcony is one of those wrap-around verandas with rocking chairs?  The smokers were so disturbing that my daughter and I were gagging; vowed I'd never return. Now, that place is also a casino -- smokers + gambling. Per your point.

@KDillabough Truth be told, Kaarina, I thought of you as I was writing this, wondering if you'd agree. 


You did! And, I do (til death do us part)! Because we've been doing this so long and have experienced every change that required adjusting and re-targeting, we've (I've) grown very weary of the uphill climb.


I've been seeing people talk about the demise of the single blogger. Back in 2010, I launched the SMB Collective -- it was a group blog before its time! Need I resurrect that again and find folks to join in and write for small businesses?


Should we align forces and let each of us showcase our talents again with key words and offerings and products? 


I need more time, more money, and more help. Sigh. Thank you for you!

@profkrg Hi, Kenna!  No one's fault but my own, I'm sure. When you take a bit of a backseat to social engagement, you're soon lost and forgotten. If I were engaging at previous levels, I'm certain there wouldn't be a blip in the stream. I still do love Twitter, and now my business partners are telling me I need to move along to LinkedIn and cultivate that stream. When you have to do social for business, the strategy changes!

@TracyRedefined OMgosh. I'm having the exact opposite situation! I'm trying to teach the balance between arrogance and humbleness and showing off intelligence to others lacking. It's a major challenge and one I don't believe I'm winning. 


As parents we know from experience and sometimes letting our kids (mine's 12) flounder is the best teaching tool (and our biggest painful moment!).

It makes me really sad that what you said upstairs is true. I listen to this frequently, too, and heaven forbid I try to do a little matchy matchy about something so cool that just happened. Whatchuget is stares and silence...how uncomfortable is that?

@ginidietrich Indeed! Message mapping is numero uno for crisis communications. The best thing you said is to have them ready. No one can create messages on the spot; it's highly strategic and takes time.

@suddenlyjamie I think like the road, we sometimes veer off path. That's what blogging does to us...it takes us places unexpected to teach us lessons and get us straight until the next curve. Having a home you like to showcase your wares is just about the single-most critical element to confidence.
