Some startups are seeking to solve the public policy tensions around the income distribution. Check out Outline.com (which previously created Politify). The biggest problem is that the US has the lowest rate of class-based voting in the Western world; the poor and middle class simply don't vote as liberal as they should (largely because of religion and other social issues).
