36-30 Colts. Lots of FGs.

@RobertItoh Preach. In terms of skill positions, TE is probably least important as far as who is #1 is concerned.
Fleener has done enough to make Dwayne Allen need to compete for the #1, but I don't expect Fleener to keep that role through training camp.
Perhaps rather than designed runs for Luck, move WRs further downfield to make scrambles more viable.Did I just describe a designed-scramble?
My best argument in favor of Indy offense is that all of the Belichicking in the world can't compete with pristine QB play from Luck. The best argument in favor of NE defense is that even the smallest amount of Belichicking can severely cripple Pagano-ball. Fortunately, we've been getting further and further away from Pagano-ball, and Belichick can only Belichick if he has enough Belichick-players with which to Belichick.
@RobertItoh@jlandz09 Can't disagree. Obviously I'd love to keep all four.
PLEASE let's cut Satele. Best idea since the forward pass.
@RobertItoh@jlandz09Oh, don't misunderstand. Butler >>>>>>> Vaughn. I meant from a salary standpoint, can we afford to keep him as a #4? Guess it would depend on his current contract, but if he's a FA after this year, I have to think there's someone else out there interested.
@RobertItohDoes that leave Butler in another city?
The only people outside in Indy today were the TV reporters driving around and telling people not to drive around.
Good point on somebody else stepping up. You would think though that Belichick sliding coverage to Mathis opens things up for Redding/Freeman.
What's the verdict on Pats O-line? Specifically, whatever side Mathis is lining up on?
I'd much rather face New England in this round. Several reasons: 1) New England's record inflated in a similar fashion as the Colts because of weaker division (albeit, no division could have been as bad as ours). 2) Delaying the circus. 3) A defense that hasn't seen Luck this year. 4) Opportunity to reset the Colts in Foxborough narrative.
Whalen is ahead of Brazill on Saturday night, but I'd say Brazill and Rodgers are interchangeable. (Not interchangeable in terms of skill set obviously, but in value).
The question on Brazill is definitely more a next-year question. As for next week, he could be important with Hilton likely getting Belichick-ed.
I can't agree more about the execution of the offense. Other than the 4 actual plays that became turnovers, McAfee only punted once. Out of character turnovers are really the only reason the comeback was necessary, not an inability to move the ball down the field.
Hilton's snap count did nothing but infuriate me. Maybe Ballard's absence increases that number?
Loved #8 just because of the phrase "Wallace and Davis." Not sure if it was an intentional White Christmas reference or not, but appreciated it either way.

If you listen to Dakich regularly, as I do, you know that he addresses this issue rather frequently. Usually, when he addresses issues in the media, he begins by saying something along the lines of "And I guess I am part of the media now." In other words, he does acknowledge that he is part of the media. However, long-time listeners of his show know that when he criticizes "the media," he is speaking to a more narrow group of media members than maybe it seems.Additionally, for those that don't follow Dakich on Twitter already or only recently started, this is an old question that he has addressed numerous times both on twitter and on his show. My guess is that he was just fed up with it and reacted poorly.

Fox Sports Indiana/Ohio has a bad habit of cutting away to commercials about 5 seconds too early while Thom Brennaman is still describing what happened at the end of the inning.
This personal pet peeve is now officially a minor inconvenience. Now I'm wondering which poor soul loses their job over this debacle.

Great breakdown. When can we expect defense?

Great insights. Thanks.
I thought for sure it was much MORE complicated than that?

@Colt_Following What's really frustrating is when I'm arguing with my Patriots fan "friend" and I start rattling off all these stats (recently these have been more RG3/Luck debates) and then simultaneously offer up arguments that completely undermine all the stats I just gave. This season, what I've been more enlightened to more than anything is how much more you know about your team than anyone else who is not a fan. I actually think First Take is really enjoyable to watch and I tend to lean to the Skip Bayless sides of their debates, but like any ESPN analyst there are numerous things I disagree on. What's astoundingly frustrating this year, as opposed to last year when I agreed with Skip on all the Tebow stuff, is realizing how little he really knows about how the Colts, and specifically Luck, has been playing this year. Not necessarily by virtue of his stupidity, but probably more so just the occupational hazard of (supposedly) having to keep up with 32 teams and all their stats as opposed to just one. It can only be expected that both him and Stephen A only have time to look at such non-evolved stats as passer rating and TD/INT ratios. (Although, I have to say there's no excuse for glossing over ESPN's own QBR system which clearly gives Luck an advantage to not just RG3 but many others).

Great read. Loved how you approached the advanced stats. This is the first year I've kept an eye open on those numbers and like you have been confused at how our defense, while undoubtedly bad, is the worst in the league in both rush, pass, and overall. I feel a lot better now about my instinct in the face of those numbers.
Luck's only about 450 yards shy of Cam's record.

Also consider his Titans roots.
More than that, I'm sick of celebrating (from both teams) after making a tackle on a punt return. No reason to celebrate within 10 seconds of punting the ball.
He also tried to go all USC on that DB who picked him off before he got pushed in the back.
Even Skip Bayless gave a half-compliment to Luck today: "Luck threw 3 more INTs but cancelled 'em w/ big clutch rally -- vs. crumbling 4-8 Lions."Although, now that I read it again it sounds more like a back-handed compliment.
The Beard sounded like Will Forte's character on SNL when they commentate on those women's bowling matches and have to endorse female products.
@smonroe We're screwed.

@RobertItoh HEY! We're staying positive today!!
Here's to 8-4.
The unfortunate thing about that run is that now Arians is going to think it was the right call.

@AJ_ Wow. Unfortunately, I'm totally unfamiliar with this past just knowing who Prokofiev and Stravinsky are. Definitely saving this to read later tonight (have a 3 hour drive in a few minutes).
@Payton xD, I couldn't *begin* to tell you. Thought about that after I posted.
@AJ_ @smonroe Too bad they stopped handing out the white flags.
I'm a music education major with emphasis in cello and conducting. I can't tell you how many things were wrong with that iPhone commercial.
LOL @ "James" Irsay.
Was trying to think about how anyone could be excited watching this game at the Luke. Then I remembered that I was there for the Browns game this year. :/
Maybe for kickoffs we should stack all of our run blockers further up field so that they have to run toward the kick-returner in order to block for him. I mean...it worked earlier, right?
Welcome to Indianapolis, where giving up field goals is such a miracle it calls for chest bumps.
@BDiddy Yeah. He already met his quota in the Jax game.
Wow. Looks like Cleveland didn't need those white flags after all.
@AJ_ Ahh never mind. Now it's Ballard just screwing me over himself.
@Payton @AJ_ @BDiddy There was an article about this somewhere this week. Hang on...Found it: http://www.indystar.com/article/20121121/SPORTS03/121121046/Colts-say-QB-Andrew-Luck-suffers-illegal-hits-too-often?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|Indianapolis%20Sports
Called up Ballard this week from free agency just for this game. Arians must have heard and put Brown in just to make sure I don't finish over .500 in my league this year.
