Damnit, Adidas. You make it hard for me to like you when you continuously rip off Nike. Come on.

These have THE EXACT same midsole/sole as the XX8 and XX8 SE...what's going on here?

God I love "The Kobe." Such a great shoe.

This looks like Adidas circa 2004. Yuck.
I have to wonder how fast these will break down...

Performance-wise, this is the best sneaker I've ever played in. Incredible

That colorway just doesn't work. Looks like the "I wore these for mowing the yard" cw.
2 years ago on Air Jordan XX8 "Electric Green"
These are one of my favorites EVER. They were my summer bball shoes and were incredible. They fall apart fast, but are still well worth a cop. BRING THESE BACK. Look way cleaner than the original 16s without the shroud, in my opinion.

I love these. Also, these shoes were great to ball in (until they fell apart, which was pretty fast, unfortunately).

It's crazy to see the quality of the leather on these OG J's. Look at the thick yellow leather. Nice.

Considering only third colorway has a plastic heel counter, I would consider the first two as "off-court" variants.

The "Dunk.net" shoes--AJ 11, 12, and 13 RIP OFF. Just mashed those three shoes into one lame product...wait, Jumpman does that all the time now. Maybe they were on to something!

I think it says something when people are still consistently wearing the kobe v and vi...
I totally agree with the "too many colorways" comment. I miss the days when a few colorways of a model came out--the AJ, for instance. Made them feel more special and exclusive. Now you can I.D. your J's, which I know is technically more unique, but makes them feel like any other shoe.

I have boa lacing on a pair of Vasque trail-running shoes. They work really, really well. I'd def. go for them in a bball shoe.

I don't hate these, but I don't love them either. They were really on to something with last year's model, I feel like they didn't move forward with this one.

Wow, I seriously thought Wade was wearing the AJ2011s at first. It's amazing how much that colorway looks like them (at first glance at least).

I totally agree with this article. This happens with EVERY JORDAN RELEASE. Go back to the message boards and look. Everyone says "worst ever" and "no cop." Then come about April...opinions start to change.
2 years, 2 months ago on Opinion: The Air Jordan XX8 isn’t for everyone
2 years, 2 months ago on Kicks On Court: Russell Westbrook’s Debut of the Air Jordan XX8
@LRJ17 @AllenWalker_MH ??? I don't understand? Name one other shoe as what? These are different from every other Jordan, and any other basketball shoe out right now. Yes, they are high tops like UA, but the comparisons end there with them. They do have a similar idea to them as the Gloves...but are much better in performance I would bet. I just really don't understand what you're asking.
@AllenWalker_MH I would argue that they're different, aesthetically, from everything else Nike is making right now. Nike is going really loud and complex with their sigs right now (see Kobe 8--especially the I.D. versions available with the dragonfly print-- and Lebron X), while this Jordan is, aesthetically, the most simplified silhouette to date. All black (with little to no texture) with a simple jumpman on the heel and icy soles. Pretty clean.
I've been putting some thought into the new AJXX8...after seeing these pictures of Westbrook wearing them, and then comparing them to the rest of the "kicks on court" images, I'm gaining respect for the J's quickly. THESE ARE ACTUALLY DIFFERENT. Love them or hate them, they do make a statement, which is what Jordans should do. Anything new/revolutionary is going to be weird at first. Everyone always talks about how "these aren't Jordans," but what are Jordans if they're not groundbreaking, revolutionary, and, hell, maybe even weird at first? Jordans break new ground, and--in some ways--I think that's what these are doing. Plus they actually look really sleek and mean when worn on the court. That's my two cents.
Could this rip off the fly knit any more? No.
2 years, 2 months ago on adidas adiZero Primeknit “Electric”
@Neezy Yeah, I mean I just don't understand how the top of that 8 inch sleeve is going to be one size fits all! Calf sizes vary like crazy.
2 years, 2 months ago on Jordan Brand Takes Flight with Launch of Air Jordan XX8
I like that these are different, but two initial questions from a performance standpoint.
A) These are going to have ZERO breathability.
B) How is the top of that sleeve going to fit everyone's different leg sizes?
One: I have a feeling that engineered mesh isn't going to hold up very well during multiple uses. There's no way it can be very tough.
Two: Why can't they just do away with this system b.s. Now they're just recycling "technology" from the AJ2011.

These Lebron X's are NICE. Can't go wrong with a murdered out colorway (minus the swoosh).

@Neezy @Voon60 Sorry for "trying to educate people," Neezy. WHAT WAS I THINKING?!
This is great--it's nice to know that a major corp like Nike is still doing stuff like this.
2 years, 3 months ago on #NikeLetter: 1 on 1 with Matthew Walzer
@Neezy @Calebpierce38 No, the back too. The original AJ1's didn't have a jumpman.
@acdc2 This is what people say with EVERY new sig release, whether it is the new Jordans, Kobes, Lebrons, KDs, etc. etc. etc. Somehow this isn't what always happens. Huh.
2 years, 3 months ago on Nike Kobe VIII Black/Yellow
These also look almost identical to the Kobe 6 model, which was a great shoe. I suppose if it isn't broken...
I like them. They're getting back to what the "Kobes" should be--basic, performance-oriented shoes without stupid "systems." Kobes are the "mercurials" of basketball shoes.
