The reduced bid-ask spread brought about by HFT may (or may not) be beneficial.  However, that is not what Lewis takes issue with.  He takes issue with the ability of some firms to trade with market-moving data micro/milliseconds before it is available to the general public, and rapidly place and cancel orders to test market pricing.

This app feels like it's just a "dance hall" EQ with a left/right balance control that responds to device orientation.  What am I missing?  (I'm using it as I type this).
