I cant go to into deep explanation here, but you need bigger markets, everything that is created to help make a movie that you star in Hugh was made possible by the huge free market america has. Kind of like if you have more people you hang out with you get more "cultured" , the US consumers drive nicer cars than Japan and Germany, not because Japan and Germany don't prefer nicer cars, its because for every person you put behind a product you have to put in front of the product to "trade for support", you can not get the tools to these countries to build things if there is not a big free market and allowing the community for private ownership....

"a comedy star playing dramatic (almost never a good idea)" Thats just plain wrong, comedy actors can do drama better than drama actors doing comedy, look at robin williams, dead poets society was a great dramatic performance by a comedian....

@boobah to program the machines, what youre referring to is "physical labor", but while you can physically can do what a doctor does, you dont have the "knowledge" and since when is it okay to say "my only contribution to society is simple physical labor" something that a 16 year old can learn in a month, stop taking jobs from 16 years olds.

"PayPal was one of those times when a bunch of smart mathematicians and Libertarians ran up against a brick wall with all of their might to see if it’d give, and — perhaps miraculously — it did" That was worth a chuckle. Nice article.

11 months, 3 weeks ago on Hey Ayn Rand devotees: Startups and markets alone won’t fix our cities
"primary education, roads and airports, basic healthcare, laws", primary education is a disaster because government involvement, it makes NO sense to set people up in society to go to a gov school for 12 years then have them "work in the private market", if the end goal for the majority of society is to work in the private market, it makes more sense to have schooling in the private market to prepare for it, gov is incapable of keeping up with current trends, better to be an intern than go to college. Basic health care is not a private system now, its tied to your employer. Roads are different cuz its not a "mobile product" but a "geo product", there are not opportunities for competition cuz when you build a road from vegas to LA its not like you can have someone else do the same thing, as well as the science and knowledge to build roads hasn't really changed in the last 100 years compare to technology and also the "health care" industry. The more innovative the industry the more the gov should be involved in the marketplace.....
good article, node js saved my life.....oh okay not life but my app

@AlanDouglas Youre just blatantly wrong about flash, as a flash developer myself, it was impossible to put flash on the iPhone, which is obvious cuz the iPhone is a mobile device with a smaller chip, flash runs on desktops with bigger chip performance, even when android adopted flash, they later took it back, flash wasnt built for mobile phones. And apple likes doing their own thing cuz they can support it, why waste time investing in something that someone else made, that can't guarantee the quality of it....

@KenG you arguing against productive ppl while at the same time criticizing there needs to be more productivity. If you help the economy, money is made, how do you not understand that?
