@StephenSearer @paulcarr Not sure. The one time I used Uber (in SF) the driver was a giant dbag and demanded a tip, contrary to their policies, so haven't used them since. Ostensible price of that ride, minus shakedown from the driver, was as advertised.

For all those claiming that doubling prices raised supply, I wouldn't be so sure. Drivers knew mass transit was out and fares would be abundant; I think they would have been hustling in any case.
