I think there's something not right in giving brands the tool (i.e fan pages) to reach their customers, then re-do the algorithm to basically deprive them of what they've rightfully earned i.e fans and reach ("rightfully for 2 reasons: the first - a good fan page, with high engagement and low churn takes hard work, and the second - because for many brands, the fans predated Facebook). Wouldn't it be much simpler and more straight forward for FB to just say, from now on we charge a monthly fee for commercial fan pages, or for fan pages with X fans and up. Anyone who is getting real value from their fan page would be happy to pay.
