Marketing, Graphic Design, Making connections is what I love about what I do.
@Howie Goldfarb YES! I hate those stupid K cups. I was at a train show with my parents and I was looking at mugs a vendor had for sale and her selling point was that her mugs would hold a full serving from a K cup. I set the cup down and thought "well she missed the mark with that selling point to me" I bought cooler cups from a local train group that was selling theirs as a fundraiser. No mention of Kcups!

That is exactly how I found this fabulous group. I was new to marketing and looking for advice and well this group and Gini seemed the most 'real' and not fake people. I didn't want to be told that it was easy I wanted the 'blood and guts' stories and success.
I am sure some of the people I may never see in RL but to coin a phrase from RAT I feel that many are my EFF.

This is a really interesting article to me on multiple levels.
While working at a cooperative I saw first hand companies that put ethics before profits. Some of these were small, family owned business that would never be global much less across the US. There were some though that were HUGE (million dollars a year co.) and they found a way to make share holders and "the good of the people" (thanks @JoeCardillo) happy.
I wish I could remember the company but I can't. The board had to sign an agreement that they would lead with ethics before profit. Which I thought was an interesting idea.
Thanks @LauraPetrolinonow I'm going to go have a bowl of ice cream.

@ginidietrich @belllindsay That is why I never lie I could never remember who I told what. LOL
I always told my kids I would rather hear the truth than find out a lie later. I always made the punishment worse if they lied first, rather than telling the truth.
@ginidietrich Thank you! Oh I will look into Scrivener for a friend who is writing a book.
@DallasKincaid My dad was with a group of engineers over lunch and they created this part on napkins with mustard and ketchup... So you never know.
How do you write? I am always curious if it was written long hand and then on the computer. Do you sit and do one chapter at a time or is it a little bit here there and everywhere.
@Howie Goldfarb @LauraPetrolino they are. I have a fabulous chocolate cake recipe that uses founders. Yummy!!

@Eleanor Pierce @creativeoncall the crowd goes wild! Someone passes out in the back row!
@Eleanor Pierce @ginidietrich although not that I posted this I remember a Film friend of mine who had just recently gotten an intern (she was a communications major) was surprised that she had never heard of Hootsuite... So... sometimes I wonder what they are being taught in class.
seriously!? That seams crazy to say "not that into" social media for a social media job maybe I'm just one of those crazy's that love social media and figuring out how to use it best for me and the events I'm part of @Eleanor Pierce @ginidietrich
Thank you for the great post and tips.
I started talking to people online because I wanted to learn more about marketing and social media (graphic designer originally) I happened to stumble on Spin Sucks and the rest is history. I have truly enjoyed getting to know everyone here.
Enjoy the new job!
