I guess the challenge for OLPC is that it is difficult to make small number of OLPC production and still cost effective. It would be cheaper to have the computer companies to donate their outdated computers, such as netbook, and tablets. I believe that the intent of OLPC is profound; however, realistically, it is just not practical to design a product uniquely for that purpose. Hope someone carry on the vision and move it forward with different way of implementing it.

Tencent's dominance in China cannot be underestimated here. They are to China is about what Google is to the world. Instead of having Xiami and Alibaba to come with their own Amazon Kindle-like product, what Tencent is trying to do is to seize the competition and get everyone converted to their solution.
