Boomsound makes the One a palm-sized stereo system so I don't need my bluetooth and external speakers.
Verizon is so awful about orphaning its products (can you say "Thunderbolt" or "Rezound?") I cannot possibly believe that they show the market such contempt by trumpeting 6-8 month old hardware such as the DNA and marketing it as if it were a One. Meanwhile, HTC's executive suite thinks that ignoring 37% of the wireless market is a good way to go. For those of us committed to Verizon (because it's the best network in our area), these are not happy times.
Absolutely; can't always "stream," for instance, when on an airplane. That's why I have a 64g microsd card on my phone. If I had my druthers, *all* my music would be local, not just some of it.
Swiftkey. Nothing else I've used comes close. The principal problem with Swype is that it brings all the stress of Temple Run to the keyboard (quick, where do I turn nextttttttttt?) Plus my finger's "bounce" on the screen from time to time. I have tried every keyboard (heck, I even tried out Palm's Graffiti for old time's sake) and the predictive qualities of Swiftkey make life easy (if not occasionally spooky. Like, if it really knew what I wanted to say so well, why didn't it just go ahead and type the whole message and send it for me?)
