For those interested in green cloud computing, may I draw your attention to one of the earliest low-footprint data-center concepts out there:

I was very fond of this idea when it popped up a few years ago, but was surprised to find it didn't take off the way I thought it would. It seems like the black-box approach to data-center facilities management, and the green benefits would make the concept popular. Maybe not so much. Or, perhaps good things take time to percolate....
