This post should be bookmarked by every Ohio State fan, and saved for a day when smiles are needed.
Of course, most of those comments are of the knee-jerk variety that we're so accustomed to seeing. Ultimately, nobody will remember what Jesse Palmer or Pat Forde thought. People will only remember the remarkable story that was the 2014 Ohio State Buckeyes.
But the most nonsensical comments in the bunch are Sheridan's. You have to be willingly ignorant to believe that Urban Meyer isn't among the very top of his profession.

You can also add Matt Barkley to the list of athletes who held a press conference to announce that they were staying in school. I don't recall any vitriol being spewed in his direction afterwards. It's quite silly. He tells the nation that his degree will take him farther than his athletic ability - a far cry from the young man who sent out a silly tweet a few years ago - and somehow this is a bad thing.

Nonsense, I say. Yes, he's awful at calling game action. That's indisputable. But I admire his willingness to be cheesy where everyone around him is a little too self-serious.

That was amazing. Francesa has nothing on that.

Neither here nor there, but:
"Do you think anyone from a BCS conference is going to start a
home-and-home with Utah -- or Boise State or TCU or Brigham Young --
anytime soon? No."
Ohio State recently scheduled a home-and-home with TCU for the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

On a day where facts are indeed being tossed out left and right and agenda is ruling the discussion, Mike Francesa of all people has been a voice of reason. Wow.

"Still waiting to hear from those B1G suck ups who whined to me about why I kept Tattoo U lower in my AP top 25."
Yes, Drew, because college football is about you, not about the teams that play it.
Fantastic, but just a quick note, they DID eventually drench the coach in Gatorade. I believe it happened after his interview with one of the reporters.

I had so much not reading that at all.

Eh, I don't mind raising a banner for a division title. It's a sign of something accomplished; a sign of progress for the team. A symbol of doing something right, which is more than most teams can say. But there sure as hell shouldn't be a ceremony for it. It should be quietly raised, without acknowledgement of any kind.

This whole conference superiority thing is just a scheme perpetuated by networks to place importance on games that shouldn't matter. Should a Penn State fan care if Northwestern beats Vanderbilt in the second game of the season? No. But these conference VS conference records have been seeded in the minds of fans and viewers everywhere, and now people care about games that they normally never would.

I cannot stand this "eyeball test" nonsense that I'm forced to digest every year. It reminds me of the Oklahoma State/Alabama discussion a year ago. It isn't, or it shouldn't be, about putting in the teams you think are the best. It's about putting in the teams that have earned it and deserve to be there. Northern Illinois earned it. If you're using the "eyeball test" then why even bother having a regular season? Why don't we just skip it and put all the SEC teams in the biggest bowl games ? Because, clearly, that's what these talking heads want.

This is unrelated, but you absolutely have to find footage of Trent Dilfer saying that Ray Lewis is a "Thermostat leader" because he affects the climate of the locker room, and not a "themometer leader" that decides to go with whatever the climate already is.
