I will watch this film due to Jason Wu (Wu Jing) I heard will be in it. He was Beijing 4 times WuShu Champion. Seen his other films so it reason to see this film.
Now Byron closed they should think of going food on wheels. It only way to go since so many fine food business folded due landlords. Masa was one also landlord. Hope Wong family think of having a food truck business with Byron foods in it .

I see Sing Cheong Yuan is not sure of of her own religion for most of the Chinese are Taoists and goes to Kwan Yin Temple. They do not bring offering to Buddhist temple. All New Year Customs are base on Taoists not Buddhist. Owner seem not sure of customs.
It strange most people who born in Asia do not know own religion like my inlaws all these years thought their late mother was Buddhist but really a Taoist and hire Buddhist priest which should been a Taoist.

Okara is that soybean meal left after done making tofu and soy milk. There so many recipes using it and see Aloha Tofu sell it at 1.49 a bag in stores. So far not sure what region food is known in Hokkaido.

Some will be good in 4 stars dinner in between entries dessert. Now many 4 to 5 stars restaurants are doing so and very chic indeed. It no longer just for ending of the meal now. Wonder if there going be a cucumber sorbert?

@Melissa808 There no Hawaiian Air lounge in San Francisco yet only other locations like LA and Honolulu and neighbor islands. All free with first and business class flight tickets and millage club card. It still a good deal.

Hope you visit the airport lounge of the airline you were flying. Some airline lounges are great with buffet and all you eat snacks and drinks. I flew China Air and had all you eat dim sum in Taipei on business class flight. Hawaiian Air also have lounge in San Francisco on first class and business class and club card holders too.

All this about lounges of airlines is great bloging. I check one out in Taipei by China Airline and the lounge had all You Can Eat Dim Sums and pastries and hot and cold drinks. Found out hardly any people were inside lounge so enjoy myself to everything. Use wireless and watch some tv. There reading area with lot newspapers and mags. Liquors they had lot different kind to pick from too again it all you drink.

At Japan KFC had a fried furikaki chicken with miso soup and custard tart. They also serve salmon patties on buns. I had corn pie in Mcdonald.

Many years ago his daughter open one at Liliha Sq where my aunt work there also for a short while till she quit the business move to Florida .

Well in San Francisco is common during CNY but not sure dim sum shops in Honolulu. It a Taishanese custom to make it.
The CNY customs are different in mainland and San Francisco is one. My cousins every year get 20.00 in their li see since they were kids. I never got that much just 1.00 token li see for good luck. My parents said too much money make a child greedy In some way true indeed. So I just save my li see money for small things and was happy.
In San Francisco they buy Quinn Branches for good luck for business or homes. Every where sell fatt gau (rice muffin ) .
Well I not into durian so eat jackfruit instead for a while. I really try to get use to taste but the smell kill my desire for it .

Martin Yan new restaurant will open in San Francisco Westfield Mall downtown. Called M.Y. China serving dimsum and other dishes. It look nice open in fall 2011. I guess we are all spoiled now with so many dimsum place to go to. In early Hawaii we have to buy char sui baos from San Francisco and other things now we have it all also.

Well I people with kidney illness do not have easy any more in life when it come to food for my mother have it over 2 years and on dialisy every other day in clinic for 3 hours which drive her crazy lying on chair unable to move . Can't eat hardly anything at all even enjoy some very much like ice cream or soft drinks and other snack food like everyone else.
In hospital they limit her in eating meat just two piece of thin slice beef is all she able to have. It no longer a pleasure eating out now or at parties.

When my sister and I was in Honolulu in the 80 , we went to MaeMae School for a year. We love the school lunches so very much. Not like in San Francisco Public School. Reheat food bah. We saw it was fresh made every day and many things made in kitchen even the juices also. Kids got it made in Honolulu for sure. Price back then was 45. per a child not bad at all.

When in San Francisco my cousins and I like Sushirrito at New Mongomery downtown. Sushi size of burrito with Latin style filling. Too bad Hawaii where sushi been around longer than mainland does not this type of sushi burrito at all. I hope some lunch truck in Hawaii have soon. The owner of Sushirrito is Chinese guy name Peter Yen.

A chef must his or her own style and flare in it. Any body able to cook well but not many have own way of showing it in own style, Like bakers been to so many bakeries and pretty much the same pastries but some do have own special products indeed. They are the one that stand out very much.

I have been trying to find that certain cheese called D'affinois also. It indeed not easy to find in Honolulu and would be costly. That soft and butter tasting cheese is what I like very much. I will try contact the Cheese Boutique in San Francisco if they could mail it over.

The Coq Monsieur they sold there should be called at all a Coq Monsieur att all for without egg it not that. Call it some other name please for it very misleading for customers.
I see too many taco trucks out there no original ideal from food vendors trying copy each other, Soon customers will like other type of food out there than just taco. I for one had it with just taco trucks.. Something like noodle is good for it low cost to buy and make into many different dishes to sell yet no these vendors only of taco taco taco.

@Melissa808 Duck Tongues in Flower Lounge Millbrae is called Duck Jaw. The restaurant got parking valets there and it 3 floors restaurants. One famous actor from Taiwan was there named Roy Liu Dekai and lot customers kept on going in and out of room looking at him.

@Melissa808 @Amy1 Koi Palace in Daly City and it pretty fancy restaurant also in Milbrace Flower Lounge. See web on it for it very chic upscale Hong Kong style restaurant. It where many Asian stars like to dine when in town.
That rice roll with the you tau is called Char Leong in Hong Kong. It also popular in San Francisco tea houses too. I did not see duck tongues maybe not in Hawaii tea houses. I always like to order beef meatballs steamed .
It hard eat a food item when it has a strong odor that not so likeable. I try the durian fruit but could not get pass the smell . To many people it like gasoline very strong. I try buying the durian cookie waffer in Chinatown and took it home to eat. Open it and wow what a smell again unable to pass the smell to take one bit of the waffer at all . So I dump it in trash can in kitchen and later that day the whole house smell of the durian and family thought gas leak . Funny we have electric stove no gas.
Took waffer cookie out of kitchen trash can and dump it outside trash can and open widows and spay whole house .

We are so lucky to have a great CNY Festival. San Francisco is OK but did not have that many food stalla selling foods. You could get still from dim sum shops and bakeries which there is a lot of them open late for festival. My grandparents told me of how simple it was back then in Honolulu Chinatown CNY parade was small but nice and not that fancy like it is now. Food stalls was also basic stuff they sold not like now so many great food to try out there.

It like sports must a special tactic play in doing so in the mall. My friend have one that was "Sear have microwave sale at 20.00 for first 20 customers. That made customers rush to Sear from Macys making more space for us to shop. Oh yeah there no discount at Sear tricky.

I would take them to Oceanurium for the buffet lunch. They get to see the water show from this huge glass wall with all kind of fishes and divers. It something special and also Pagoda Floating Restaurant and Willow are nice for them.

Well in Ming Tsai past show on tv he was in a Chinese Restaurant kitchen. He informed viewers that chef use MSG in his cooking. That bad for many people do get ill side effects for it. It make Chinese restaurants look bad and people see all Chinese Restaurants use MSG but there many do not.
Is he trying to promote his restaurant is the one that does not?

I also visit San Francisco to see my cousins. Woodhouse Fish Co. is where we like to go often. Hot guys worked there and great food like lobster roll awesome. Bloomingdale food courts and restaurants is a plus with me. Dick Lee Pastry in Chinatown at Jackson and Grant great deal at around 5.00 with drink all you can eat dim sum lunch leave you stuff. I had enough money left to buy more dim sum to take back.
