Really great photos. Photography is a very good way of focusing on all the beauty in the world, which usually makes us much more appreciative and happy about life. Seems like you are doing a good job of that!
Wise words Jonathan. I took a hiatus from reading books and blogs for awhile and instead when into "take action" mode. It is very easy to get analysis paralysis.
Agreed. It's nice to just be able to do something just for the sake of doing it. If anything, those "meaningless dreams" give you self-worth and help you prove to yourself that you can overcome boundaries.
"Do you have a work mode, friends mode and family mode?"
I actually have a small bone to pick with this. I think our authentic self is very complex and multi-faceted. I know that when I talk to my friends its different than if I'm talking to family or my boss. It's okay to adjust our behavior around different people and different environments - it doesn't necessarily mean we are being inauthentic - just showing different sides of ourselves.
Some letting ourselves open our mind and be distracted can be beneficial for creativity and generating new ideas. Other times, when you know exactly what it is you need to do, it's important to remain focused and minimize distractions.
Totally agree. I prefer someone who is authentic and honest, even if I disagree with them, then someone who hides who they are (even if it might be something I happen to like). I want people to be who they are, not conform to what I think they should be.
I really have to use my LinkedIn account more.
NatalieSisson Interesting plug-in. What do you like about it better than Disqus or IntenseDebate?
Oh, and sorry for not being a woman! :P
"You can’t let your mistakes paralyze you. You need to learn from failures; you’re going to have lapses in judgment, you’re going to make mistakes."
This is the most crucial advice. Everyone says it, but I don't everyone practices it. You WANT to fail, because that means you are pushing yourself. If you aren't testing your limits, you may not make any mistakes, but you won't be going anywhere. Entrepreneurship means going out into the unknown...and taking risks.
Great post - looking forward to reading more very soon!
