@Philipp Ulrich I think the only ones being jaded are the speedhunters crew. Most of us haven't lost site of the fact that horsepower isn't everything, I think the SH guys are just rediscovering this and believe they've had an epiphany (mistakenly think we're on the same wavelength).

@Barn You're being modest Barn, beautiful car.

Oh sweet Mother Mary, to me this car is more exciting than anything you've featured for a while (well that old Celica was nice too). You can through that LB junk in the trash and hand me the keys to this. Subtle exterior changes (mmm those steelies) coupled with a "screw it, why not" engine, perfect.

Enjoyed the coverage but the Ring Brothers have been covered already spectacularly by petroliscious. Would still be neat to see some features though.

@Matt Panic @AceAndrew2 Interesting, similar weight to one of the caged 2002's in the shop.

Great car, but to follow the outlined philosophy I'd think about ditching the interior carbon fiber bits. Would love to trade 71's for a day. EDIT: approx. how much do these things weigh anyways?
"kato-san of Liberty Walk refers to the current style as ‘works style’, as
it’s influenced by ’70s Japanese racing style. Maybe you’d prefer to
call it ‘werks style’ as a nod to the German roots? Let us know."
As long as there is a strong nod towards ze German roots then I'm fine with it (a la' 2002 Turbo, etc.)

If only the Mazda Furai was still alive, this would have been a match made in heaven.

"The good, the bad, and the ugly of the automotive world." Perfect way to sum up SEMA. Little bit of everything. In my mind this is a show you choose to enjoy or choose to be cynical (or to be flabbergasted).

I hate myself for loving this car.
Sure there's niggles about a bit of fitment issue with the front fender, and sure there are stickers (well that's just marketing 101), but frankly I could care less.

Please tell me they're making the 15x8's et.0 in 4x100, they'd be perfect on flared '02's.

Looks great! Rather strange how our projects are being done simultaneously to similar specs .... just different makes.
and I like the Cunifer hardlines.

@Wildcardfox You've only complained once and it's already old.
Oh, and I'd rock one of these on the oldest car I can find for giggles. Who wouldn't love a Model A rocking diamond tread tires plastered with "speedhunters"? In fact this would make a great prank.

Looks great, congrats guys. I'm still ready with money if you make a collage print of engine bays. In fact that'd make an interesting series. Engine bay collage, suspension component collage, wheel/brake collage. and even body collage.

@BasedHero @pstar Yep. I've worked for Pininfarina and currently design parts for vintage BMW's. I voted for F&F. Grew up in rural Idaho, that movie came out in Jr. High, opened my eyes that there were other cars aside from the plethora of muscle cars. Love the other movies, but F&F made me love cars in the first place.

@CaptainInsano I believe it has every right to be on the list. It moved a generation to be more aware of cars in culture. Anyone can say the acting wasn't great, the story line was bogus, etc. But I can say the same exact thing can be said about Le Mans and Grand Prix (both movies I also love). I'll be the first to admit that the first F&F sparked my interest in cars, it was only later I discovered and enjoyed the other movies on this list.
@Mike Garrett @AceAndrew2 Ford retains the low grey-colored building on the right directly next to the Taco Bell HQ as their west coast Advance Design studio.
Here's a pic of the Flex going back inside after the show....
Mike, if you're looking for some vintage Bimmers this weekend let me know.

Favorite show bar none. Is it a no no to mention the rather special Ford place nearby? My favorite time to go is this coming weekend as a chunks of Monterey-bound metal make their appearances. Well, that and right before the LA Autoshow when you get a chance to see some of the concepts before the show. I remember Ian Cullum coming out with the c-x75 prior to the LA Autoshow a few years back.
