Yep... 1MoreCastle needed a dose of "Awwwwww." The previous iterations of that feeling were when we learned that Jason played a Mega Man game.

NIcely done. I love your writing style. It fits perfectly for the premice of the series. Can't wait for more!

@ChrisSwartz Oh it doesn't stop there. Even 2nd party could include Eternal Darkness and Turok before the arrival of RE4. But Conker's Bad Fur Day was really a "Scary Movie" video game with the way it treated "mature" themes.

See, Conker's Bad Fur Day is a critic of society in the years when it was released. It came at a time when people were yelling at Nintendo, begging them to bring mature games to the console. Nintendo and Rare said: "Screw it! They want mature themes, we'll give them mature themes."

What we received is one of the most immature game ever made, proving, once again, that the mature themes are the most immature. Proposing a widespread society statement that violence, war, objectification of women are just immature and need not exist.

Now, in a time when we see Nintendo struggling with 3rd party companies, I ask, do we want to, again, to send them the route of "mature themes"?

Ok ok ok... Here's exactly what happened after I read your review.

1. I started to type how the game wasn't THAT bad according to my memory.

2. I went back to my review of it (a review I wrote within the half-hour after I finished the game) and realized that, at that time, I pretty much agreed wholeheartedly with all the points you made and then some.

3. I lol'ed again at your "sharpies my catridges" and then I lol'ed because I had compared Donkey Kong Land to a McDonald's poutine.

So in the end, it's trying too hard to be an SNES game like most of the "ports" the game boy saw. The cloud stages can go die in hell, you go from an ice stage to a jungle stage in the same world (what's up with that?). The only thing that was "better" than the SNES version are the bosses. They were a lot less boring.

Like other miniaturized console games the game boy had: They're not bad, they're just completely irrelevant in this day and age.

@rizzardcore But I put my reference axis at any real number. :P I remembered that!

And I'm not a fan of interior design per se. I just looked at some magazines with my gf to redecorate the condo for us to sell and the color scheme reminded me so much of Tetris, I had to write something about it.

I think I had Super Play Action Football on the SNES. It was okay... Now, Triple Play '99 and '01 deserve more love. One for the hilarious random comments of the announcers, the other because you can have a home run derby in a living room.

Like I said on twitter, I'm glad you enjoyed this game. It's a true gem although it's not the game you'll play for hours on end, days on end, it's a fun title. Reminds me of the kind of indie game that should be on mobile phones.

I have both and, strangely, even I think you're being a bit too poetically harsh. But I might just be trying to appreciate the good efforts of the console. Like congratulating an handicapped person for making himself toasts without burning down the house of peeing his pants.

I hear you @Nintendo_Legend. Not only will I not diminish the importance of Super Mario Bros. 2 by calling it a Doki Doki Panic reskin, but I will not exaggerate its importance in the grand scheme of the Mario franchise. I will give the very moderate and sincere nod it deserves as a working class hero.

I'm getting way ahead of myself, but Kirby might be one of the NIntendo Characters that gets the most love from its own creators. In every single game where he appears, there are always a ton of details and animations for the pink blob. That jumping animation is amazing, but how about Kirby Super Star on the SNES. Multiple moves for multiple powers for both Kirby and the sidekick. Detailed dancing animations and "cutscenes". Not only that, but remember how great the animations for powers were. Sleeping Kirby remains one the the cutest thing ever and fire kirby catching fire because you brought the fire breathing too close to him is just magical!

Like I mentioned before, I had a similar idea for a series, but I never could've taken it to this level! Looking forward to the next installement!
