@AceAndrew2 @wtfdriftfanboyz @JoeWhaler oh no, he's a huge success. I personally thing he's a pretty good driver and a generally awesome dude. But that's not what this contest was about. it was about the best video of the year. Will and Josh made an intensive, meaningful, high quality movie. Ken block did some donuts around some stuff in san francisco. i'm willing to bet that the large majority of people who voted for ken block's video didn't even watch the others, let alone a 30 minute film about drifting.
@ComJive if you're referring to the GTR and FRS wings, they attach to the rear bumper, which is attached to the chassis. doesn't get much less flop than that...
last time i checked, nos hadn't posted anything about KDF. Ken block was plugging his video EVERYWHERE. Do you think NOS paid for Josh and Will's camerawork, gas, food, and time? Because i'll tell you right now that they didnt. KDF was the work of two guys with a passion and some cameras. GK5 was a high budget film backed by some of the biggest sponsors present in motorsports (monster, dc)
i can't comprehend the fact that the speedhunters followers are saying gymkhana 5 was the best video of the year. Sure, it's got the second highest production value of any up there, and ken block is awesome, but it pales in comparison to the months of touring put together for KDF, or the fun vibe of Bloodmasters.
Normally, I wouldn't vote for Formula D Irwindale just because i don't want to be a drift fanboy.
however, the final round this year was RIDICULOUS. So many upsets, tense moments, absolutely INSANE driving. Most action packed round of formula D i've ever seen, and the most fun i've ever had watching a motorsport event. I think it deserves to win.
This is the kind of story i come to Speedhunters for. makes me feel like i'm getting a behind the scene look, and on top of that pointing out the little nuances and stories and people that you might otherwise miss that make the whole thing happen. keep it up guys.
oh man! i remember seeing this truck. looked back through my sema pictures and could only find this picture of my pass in the wheel, those things were monstrously deep. it was sitting against the wall right by the ford area with the chrome mustang/deegan/foust cars.
