As someone so eloquently put it at TEDx Detroit last week, "we are in an era of selling customer experiences instead of customer services."
@ginidietrich This is a fantastic tribute to a good friend. I know too well the effects cancer can have on a family and I'll be saying a prayer for the Hemphills. Although Gerald is gone, the memories will always remain.
@ginidietrich One day when I get to that level, I'm hiring you for sure AND I support the virtual office!
Oh @ginidietrich how I wish you worked in the auto industry...
@ginidietrich I don't think it's naive at all. I'd love for a candidate to try it. In the political ad industry, it could be thought of as revolutionary much like when Obama truly became the first "social POTUS."
Frustrates me to no end. On both sides, I wish they would focus on the good they could do if elected...what they would do to end poverty, improve the economy, etc. rather than try and discredit the opposition. Someone else telling me how bad someone or something isn't going to make me change my mind. We vote for a reason and I'd rather vote based on what candidates do or have done rather than what they say.
Unfortunately, it's still politics and I still have a hard time trusting candidates I support.
@ginidietrich I always love looking back and learning. It helps set you up for the future. Congrats on 6 years. I've learned a ton from you.

Happy birthday, Patti!!!!!!
I definitely think geo location has changed since the days of just telling people where you are. I find it even more relevant when I see that friends have checked in and left tips. Now that Foursquare has updated itself, I find myself going there more and "liking" and leaving comments on people's check ins (ahem...like yours).
Great post! Small businesses should definitely try to leverage this more!
Sorkin video is great especially after watching The Newsroom this week.
Love seeing more Detroit people contributing to Spin Sucks! Great blog @nikki_little ! Not only should companies clean up their online presence but people should too! With so many properties, it's hard to imagine people or companies can manage them all effectively.
Congrats @ginidietrich ! Super excited for you!
Apple rocks. Period.
In the time that I've known you, I've seen you practice every one of these things. Great ideas that have practical applications for brands as well as individuals.
ginidietrich I'll cheer for the Saints against San Fran. I'm hoping it's a Saints / Packers NFC Championship. That will be a good game!
ginidietrichHowie Goldfarb I'm cheering for the Broncos since the Lions have been eliminated. Mainly I like Tim Tebow and that's why I'm rooting for Denver, a team ginidietrich dislikes about as much as the Packers apparently.
ginidietrich If I was rooting against the Bears then I could understand but I didn't realize you hated the Broncos so much!
Even though you're not speaking to me until after the Super Bowl (because I was cheering for the Broncos and Tebow), I'm glad you wrote this! I still can't believe Boners BBQ did what they did! The "apology" is a bit pathetic and they are still feeling the effects of it on Twitter too. I hope they learned their lesson. By the way, here is the review from Stephanie S. on Yelp. Not sure if it warranted the response Boners BBQ gave her...

Go to East Lansing for the day!
That's hilarious how different the 2 teams are...
