For current mobile development practices, Scalability should be kept as a high priority for any mobile app; be it a business app or general purpose app. Organizations works rigorously to develop an app for assisting the end users for its usability and neglecting the scope of scalability ruins the productivity of all the efforts in no time. Distributed computing helps in imparting a stability in an app and making use of cloud services again smoothens various aspects related to performance, cost.

Well said Durba, another thing that I'd like to share with you is the exploding data volume happening on Social media can be another reason for the long run survival of Big data or introduction of some new data technology or concept.

It's an interesting Infographic which I encountered while surfing for Big data technologies

@DurbaSengupta The world "Fail" is not the basis of the evolution as we all know it. If the word Fail was ever considered in the history we would still be running our economy on huge pile of files and folders, if not less. Not only this, consider the hierarchy of data processing, initially there used to files and folders and the executives monitoring and maintaining them for decision makers. Then came the era of computers, where data was turned into a digital format so that few people could administrate the data and then came databases and warehouses which further introduced the pattern finding capabilities in data.

If we analyze this pattern, we will find out that it was correctly quoted that necessity is the mother of invention. And so as the data volume exploded, technology architects introduced Big data technology in order to facilitate the maintenance of large volume data.

There may be some day when Petabytes of data will be processed in seconds as human nature to "ask-more" will not set him back to rely totally on Big Data, there would be some Giant data someday as well.

The business development is nowhere related with the discussion if the concept of Big data is going to last or not, its about if businesses will make use of it to grow and enhance their operational efficiency. Big Data is definitely a technology to deploy to figure out patterns from pile of data and makes it possible for businesses to use this huge amount of data, which otherwise was only stored because it cannot be processed.

Big data products like PureData by IBM, launched recently helps organizations to processes data stored in their warehousing management systems even from other databases and can process petabytes of data in minutes.

So Big data technology definitely holds a great future for the purpose of business intelligence in businesses.
