@jasonkonopinski If you don't understand the business then you can't set realistic expectations. Its one big circle, I actually don't think one weighs more than the other.

@ginidietrich Thanks boss!
@KenMueller Could not agree more. Client service has a lot of educating in it. It might be the client, your team, and, well, mainly yourself.
@jelenawoehr Looks like I touched a nerve. You make great points and thank you for your support! (Although, I do want a gold watch.)

@Anthony_Rodriguez Thanks, Anthony. I agree about the young people on the show. All I want to say is "how could you?"
@rdopping You are not the average . Maybe you don't see me as a Millenial, but everyone else does. It stinks to have age define who you are.
@jenzings P.S. Love the movie references.
@jenzings This is where I fall into the trap, because I want more than that. I get it; Millennials always want more. But I believe there is more to be done than just working hard, like writing this blog and doing podcasts for the greater good.
@JoelFortner Thanks, Joel. However, I want to do more than kill it, I want to change the stereotype. So how do I do that? I'll let you know when I find that answer.
@rustyspeidel YES! I love having someone to blame. (Kidding.) Send a link to your post!
@TheJackB Interesting point. Although, I keep hearing that this is the first generation that is not working harder than the generations before them and that is what gets on my nerves.
I think waiting it out is important here. We don’t know where this is going and Skittles should not try and profit from it. (Any sort of move could look like they are even if they are not.) I think the statement they made was PERFECT. Taste that rainbow.

@MollyFulton It is all about the lesson. They had hoped for a successful viral video and they never imaged it would be what it is today. BUT, do you think he could have thought of more or different actions for people to take?

@trontastic Thanks! I would have liked to see what the actual need was then maybe a phone number to call, an address to write a letter to. Raising awareness is great, but what is a bracelet and a poster going to do?
@BBS_JonBrock Love the word you used, experiment. Yes, this is an experiment of how social media can create change.
Thanks for the mention in your post! We'll definitely keep an eye on these. 2012 is going to be a good year!

I love a good recommendation! I will start reading A Splendid Exchange tonight! (Stay with Unbroken, that I my "I can't recommend it enough" book.)

Not only critical thinking, but creative thinking!
You are correct. I had a note in there that the last four books are non fiction...that must have gotten edited out, @lisagerber ?

YES! Please do!
I think there will always be competition for something. But maybe not bigger, maybe we scale down and get more targeted.
But it's still up to your community. Making sure you have a large audience first, is key.
True, but what if you want to know a good Mexican place in Chicago? You could use Yelp, but if you try Google Search Plus Your World first, you could see if any of your netword has recently talked about that. Then communicate directly with them about it.
Yes, exactly. Although, you can turn off the clutter if you don’t want it. You just don’t have the option for your message to show up on someone else’s search.
You would think that would be common sense but I see stuff on my newsfeed all the time and it makes me wonder how some people even have jobs!
Haha! That's great. And I could not agree more with your first sentence.
@Soulati | B2B Social Media Marketing Have you thought about going on there as a brand and republishing blog posts or other content to stay in time with search?
@keithbloemendaal What about on the other end? If you were a small business owner, would you feel you needed to get on there so your Plus results showed up for your connections?
@EricaAllison@Soulati | B2B Social Media Marketing Are you a small business person Erica. I'd be interested to know if you or your company is on there and what your searches look like.
@MSchechter I disagree, I think because it is Google is why people are causing fits, not in despite of them.
@DTCchicago I agree and that's why I am staying away from Google + (for now). I want to see what happens and like my searches the way they are...scrolling to the second and third page to end up emailing someone for the answer. ;)
@JustInTheSouth@deleted_91832_Sean McGinnis It would also be interesting to know if Bing is going to come out with it's own social world.
@deleted_91832_Sean McGinnis@KenMueller Could not agree more. Content, content, content. (While knowing what to do with the content. :))
Interesting. So you don't think the rules will change until the playing feild does?
I made number four! YES!

@KenMueller well you should watch it. I've gotten a few emails. This video might be my big break in to TV!

@DebCE Thanks so much, Deb! Means a lot. Hope you're well!
@ginidietrich I wish we had video for that. Seriously. I think we would win money from some funny video contest.
@John_Trader1 haha, it's fun for us. But carrying dog treats is always a good thing. Never know where you might be.
@lisa Gerber Yes, yes, and yes!!!
@JoelFortner great insight. I'm now interested to see some case studies of other name branding successes.
@HowieG I agree with you, but I also trust. I use Wiki for a lot of quick research, yes I take it with a grain of salt, but I trust for the most part.
When using Yelp, I usually don't read the one that are raving or the ones that are horribly negative, I look for examples on food or service.
With the online journalism world changing, we need to learn to trust. (And hopefully the fools that @ginidietrich mentions keep getting caught.)

I mention the cost and having the right intentions. I do someday wish to go back to school and if I found myself without a job, I would consider that now. But it is not an easy way out and should not be done just because you can't find a job.
I am so happy it worked out for you! What a great story. It is so hard to let go and see what happens. Like comments below, income takes priority in most cases.
I don't think its fair to not count an internship as starting your career. With more than two internships under your belt, you could be more valuable to a company than someone who was fired.
