Let me say that the "it's like a vacation when you work from home" - that is the most untrue one of all. It couldn't be farther from the truth.

@KirkHazlett And gotta love the corporate side - without the corporate side there would be no agency side :)
@yvettepistorio @TomPick not to mention we really work our butts off - there is no such thing as 9 - 5 on the agency side.
@bradmarley Hurry up and wait is what we called the LA freeway LOL!
Agency life is all I know but I have been known to say at time I feel like the jack of all trade but the master of nothing LOL!
Key to an open brainstorm is the ability to take constructive criticism....it's not personal; it's business....my favorite quote from The Godfather!

@ginidietrich @PattiRoseKnight I'm sure that when that is an option Google will be the first one
@allenmireles The only way I can proof something in 10 minutes is if I turn everything off and focus on the proofing and proofing only. I am a visual person and when i see that email preview pop up at the bottom of my screen it distracts me and then takes 40 minutes to proof. That's my tip for the day.
@adammbsmith @PattiRoseKnight @ginidietrich I really wish everyone would blog like this - if it pertains to me I'll read the whole thing if it is more like a thesis then forget it - i will close and move on.
LOVE LOVE LOVE scannable copy - I mean really love. Most of the time if I look at a post and it's too long I put it aside to read later and we all know what that really means....
And asking a question at the end of your post will (hopefully) get people engaged and talking.....it works with the crazies (love that word)...
I have a question....is there a tool that Google doesn't have? I love their translate; makes my life so much easier!!!
@ginidietrich @PattiRoseKnight I do....if they really thought about it - do you really want to be on the front page? Not really.
1 year, 10 months ago on Seven Reasons You’re Not Ready to Hire a PR Firm
I can't tell you how many clients at my previous firm wanted #4. I remember one client wanting to be on the front page of the WSJ and our EVP nicely told him that he probably didn't want the front page of the Journal - odds are it wouldn't be a good placement for his company if it was the front page of the Journal.
Some clients or potential clients don't know what they want or need and it's our place to nicely let them know what they need.
@Hajra Bears fans get special preference....just kidding...or am I? LOL!

@lizreusswig @PattiRoseKnight I chuckle inside every time I see it be cause I previously worked at a non-profit in mental health rehabilitation and that particular word was a no-no then and now I can say it all I want and it is encouraged LOL!
I wonder how long it will take us to come up on a Google search when someone Googles "crazies"....LOL!
Technology is only as good as its ability to make my life a little easier. If it does I am pretty loyal.

If i had to guess I'd say Mr. D sent the golf one and maybe the Jimmy Kimmel and btw it is hysterical. The difference between girls and boys - the girl owns up to the fib when the lights go on and a boy probably would keep on fibbing either because they want to or because they like the lights going on - or both!!! I am going to share the don't smoke one with Mike - not that it will work - he will only quite when he wants to!

1 year, 10 months ago on Treat People Like Adults and You’ll Have High Productivity
@ginidietrich I know the person you referred to in this blog and that person was kept when we downsized - why because that person was the most productive of the interns. Abuse of the social networks - to me - is obvious.
@JoeCardillo you are right Joe....we all need a break during the day; I keep Facebook open all day on my iPad and when i need a break I'll get up and go in the other room and check Facebook for a few minutes throughout the day - the key word is "a few minutes" not all day long.
There are always going to be the abusers in any business office - always. In our business I get an email if someone comments or likes a blog I commented on or a Facebook status I liked or commend on even if I'm not on the blog or Facebook. We've all experienced those who are on Facebook all day long and what I've learned is that when it comes down to business and the hard situation to downsize during a tough economy those are the ones who are let go; for obvious reasons. Fairness doesn't always come instantaneous but it comes eventually to those who "play" all day long instead of doing productive work.
Another great post Gini...
The changes in Facebook since it started are amazing. This is good to know.
@belllindsay can you teach me how to be perfect too?

@jeanniecw I have 3 boys too and you're right; children will hear mixed information outside the home but if there is a solid foundation in the home they will be able to cope with the negativity. Who knows our children could be the ones to change everything and own a company that employs women in the C-suite.
@hackmanj You are so right Joe!
@JefferyBialek I work for home and have an 18 year-old it's not as hectic (I'm sure) than than younger children but I go non-stop some days. I think the stereotype of moms staying at home is changing but we're not there yet. I'm confident we'll get there eventually! No skepticism or disdain from me!
@MackCollier @lizreusswig Count me in ;-) The first fruity drink is on me :)
Oh no another book to add to my list - I'll need a sabbatical to get through all of my must reads!
This blog topic is my favorite so far! I have to work and am going to read all the comments later when I can relax and read at my leisure. Great blog GINI!!!
@yvettepistorio @rdopping I think the reason they don't switch roles most of the time is not the stereotype but instead because men are paid more than women.
@lizreusswig @belllindsay @ginidietrich Most of my true education came from listening to stories from my grandma and great-grandma. an education that could never be taught as well with books that's for sure.
