Since when was going north from Pali onto School Street anywhere near Kakaako? I was looking outside to see if I saw a police chase going on.
@Melissa808 Honolulu Hale is on that list at like 12:30 p.m. in the event you're in the area...@anotherplate808 that means you too!

@harrycovair@Melissa808 I opted for that new place in Aiea. I won't give the name because I don't want it to be 3 doors deep next year! :ep
@Melissa808 Town Center of Mililani on Saturday, Waipahu Festival Marketplace on Sunday, a cultural festival in Waikiki on Sunday afternoon and then a few dozen schools and businesses on Monday.
You're so right on @Melissa808 !!!! Kung Hee Fat Choi to each and every one of you! Come out to Mililani Town Center this Saturday for Chinese New Year celebrations and if you can't make it on Saturday, come out on Sunday to Waipahu Festival Marketplace in the morning for more Chinese New Year celebrations!
@Melissa808@DianeSeo Or you could just come back on down to Chinatown this upcoming weekend and get it cheaper!
@Annoddah_Dave@Melissa808 At that rate you might as well ask @KITV to re-air the Titus Chan episode where he's cooking the jai with...dare I say it....chicken broth.
Nice coverage Dallas!

@Annoddah_Dave A Hawaii Chinese Dinner Society event on the neighbor island? That's not a bad idea...@melissa808 is right, the pricing for a neighbor island tour is a bit pricy and logistically challenging.
@turkfontaine You come, good fun!

@Melissa808 @nonstopmari Best one I could think of was at Fook Yuen. I think that was established at the other Fook Yuen write-up if I'm not mistakened.
A great job once again @Melissa808!!! Many many more mis-adventures next year with the new Chairman, @anotherplate808!!!!
@Melissa808 It's all good.

@Melissa808@M Surely there can be a compromise!
@lihinggirl Fear not, I remembered your little bro's birthday too. I didn't call him I texted him.
Far be it a very eclectic group for our October gathering. Hopefully next month we'll have the same eclectic group at the table once again.
@Melissa808 I'm the kind of chinee who takes the holiday because he getting time and a half. And I normally don't like to take off from work unless it's necessary like Chinese New Year.

@Melissa808@rkhewesq Yup I know about that one. I know exactly which one Mr. Chiang is referring to. As I said, it all depends on the quality of the char siu. I have made it myself a few times using a random char siu house as a pilot, they actually have close to the concept, just no scrambled egg, but that you can do yourself. This random char siu house I went to allowed you to purchase freshly cooked jasmine rice under your choice of meat either char siu, roast pork, shoyu chicken, ginger sauce chicken, kind of like a plate lunch just without the salad, I'll show it to you sometime.
Oh and btw, awesome video. I always told people milk was the secret to my height and of course all of the years being yanked around by my siblings. :e)
Well since you WOKE me up ON MY HOLIDAY! Here is your answer @Melissa808 , Char siu, Rice, and Scrambled Eggs is a actually not a Hawai`i thing but a Hong Kong thing. I am told that shoyu or the fried rice we Hawai`i people are so accustomed to is more of an infusion idea. You remember that crystal fried rice we had at Fook Yuen? That's what Fried Rice is actually supposed to be, no shoyu.
@jlieu Believe you me the `ohana is just itching to see you too! Well more like the Godfather is. :e)

@Melissa808@snow I only go one place for Honey Walnut Shrimp and I think we've addressed it before in a previous Chinee like me episode.
Do not forget now, this was our 1 year anniversary. We'll have bigger and more "unusual" initiations to come!
@Melissa808@HawaiiYogini It's called testing before you buy it! Don't you do that with the lychee?
@lihinggirl the Pooh and Tigger and of course Piglet cake came from a place I cannot name on here for annonymity purposes. It was a vanilla cake.
@Nanigurl You're more than welcome to join us at some future outing. Feel free to add me on facebook and I will run your application with a steam roller just to make sure there are no dollar bills attached to it. :e)
That would have been the kau yuk with taro. Short story about kau yuk, it's a common Hawaii chinese banquet dish....more traditionally ordered with pickled cabbage but for healthier minds, you can go with the taro instead.
@Melissa808 @M Specifically which one? The one with black bean or the one that looks like an albino touched?

@Annoddah_Dave There were some who ordered rice. I'll tell you a little something, rice takes away from trying all of the dishes.
