One thing I do - when I find myself having a challenge at "letting go" - is to refer back to a specific passage from a favorite book of mine. The book: The Four Agreements, by don Miguel Ruiz. And - the specific passage is the 2nd of the agreements: "Don't take anything personally". When I focus on that thought - this helps me to "let go" and move on (the key, of course, is in actually remembering to do this!!)

Great idea, Lori - leveraging the collective wisdom of many to be a resource for someone else!!
And I really like the "Dear LFI" and "Gurus on the Porch" names. There's something about the porch theme that feels very relaxed and comforting...

@Harleena Singh Hello Harleena, it's great seeing you here today!
And I know exactly what you mean about that "getting busy" part. In fact, I've been taking a bit of a step back lately, just to feel more connected to what truly matters.
Thanks for being here!

Life's a journey, isn't it....
You are so, so super kind - thank YOU!!!
It's great having you here and reading this, too.
Thank you. And with everything that can pull us in some direction - following a path that has the most meaning can definitely be challenging. I appreciate your words, and am reminded of how truly meaningful it is when I do follow that path...
Thanks Blond Duck - it really is an adventure...raising a family (and some days....more so than others!!).
I love the humility of that statement - being the most ignorant person in the room. Lots of potential for growth, in coming from that place. And the thing is - when we think like that - believing that there is something we can always learn - there is.

What a wonderful sight this was for you...on your Saturday morning!
And I really do think it's great to sometimes analyze the moments of our days, too. And this here - what great serendipity....this magnificent being appearing before you....on this day, as you yourself took flight in new and amazing ways!!
So, so awesome! And big congrats on your book!

Mom. A pretty special word. A pretty special feeling. A super special person in my life.
Thanks, Gini, for sharing your story. It reminds me even more deeply what I love about my own mother, and all she has done for me.

I've tried the plugin a couple of times in recent months - and love it except for one feature: the comment box remains on pages/posts where I've closed comments. Jenna, from Livefyre, has been extremely helpful in letting me voice my concerns.
For the moment, I have the plugin turned off. As soon as this issue is resolved, I'm back to using it - I love it otherwise!!

naomiestment Happy New Year Naomi!!
Mmmmm....stillness. That's a word that really reaches to me. May this year be filled with many moments of meaning, as you let stillness more deeply reach your soul...
And thanks for mentioning that quote - it's one that really moves me, also...

Farnoosh Chiching!!! And...thank you!! I'm trying out the Livefyre commenting system, which has GREAT support!
TimPio Tim,Happy New Year to YOU, too!! When we are dealing with challenging times, like with what your mother is going through, humor can be something we let slip. And that's okay. It's okay, wherever we are in this life we're living. And the moments when the humor did come back, I'm sure these were lighter moments that helped to bring a smile to what might otherwise have been "less than joyous" times.
Anyway, may your new year be filled with many moments of goodness, joy, and humor...
Jenn,Greatness is within all of us. Me. You. Everyone.
So, Jenn, know that I see this so wonderfully and beautifully in you...your greatness...
May your year ahead be filled with moments of meaning, as you are renewed within the truth of your life, and the beauty of you in this world. May this retreat be one that touches your soul...
Much love to you...always,Lance
