Come on John...do you really want Spurrier to be like all the other SEC coaches (carefully scripted, monotone, boring)? You can't have it both ways!
Spurrier constantly criticizes himself for coaching mistakes, play-calling, etc - stop being a hater! Leave that to chumps like Ron Morris

Similar to the others in the media (including Jeff Schultz of the AJC - the best example of lazy journalism), you failed to draw the complete picture regarding the behavior of Ron Morris and his verbal attatcks on Coach Spurrier's ethics ...perhaps just another example of one media person covering for another. Oh, and for the record, how covenient for so many "journalists" (again emphasizng Jeff Schultz and Mrk Bradley of the AJC) failing to mention Coach Richt's decision last year to mis-lead the media regarding the suspension of a few of his players...only to then to refuse answering direct questions during subsequent weeky press conferences. Laughable!!

I really enjoy your site...I read it almost every day.
But, in this case i think you are only looking at it thru the lens of a media person. Coach understands that writers will criticize his play-calling, substitutions, etc...heck he is quick to criticize himself in that regard. But he absolutely will not stand for it when writers question his morals/ethics. Kudos to him for taking a stand!! Btw, did you read Ron Morris's column last week regarding Coach's decison to play Connor?
Thanks for all your hard work with MrSEC site!
2 years ago on USC’s Spurrier Stops Answering Questions From The Media
As many know, the local Columbia newspaper has made it a habit for decades to "keep USC down"...Coach (like so many of us) just gets tired of it. As much as I enjoy reading his comments, I am thrilled to see him occasionally turn his back to the media (particulary the State newspaper).
