This is what happens when you don't staff your station 24/7 with board ops. I'd bet anything that there was no one in the building, and their satellite receiver was set to take the golf show right at the top of the hour.

The fact that Orlando is a secondary market for the Jags is utterly ridiculous. There are far more Fins, Steelers, Pats, and Giants fans in that area than JAX fans. Go to any sports bar in Melbourne, Daytona, or the non-tourist areas of Orlando- if you find a handful of Jaguars fans in there, it's a shock.

Sorry, but I just find it hard to believe the notion that ESPN showing MLS games (regardless of production value) will make the league grow in popularity. Until clubs here (and maybe it will be New York FC) are able to pull top talent from Europe in their prime, it will always be a second to third-tier league in the grand scheme of things.

@stholeary Look at where the loudest, most passionate fanbases in MLS are nowadays- Seattle and Portland. Guess what THEY'RE not about to do? Play a 4pm/5pm PT game for an east coast audience that has no idea what the hell a Sounder or Timber is.
Could not disagree more. While you cannot blame Meyer for the murder(s), you can certainly say that if he had disciplined Hernandez for all his transgressions in Gainesville, he (a) would never have played at UF, (b) would not have been enrolled at UF, and (c) likely would not have been drafted.
Would any of these things necessarily stopped Hernandez from killing someone? Probably not. Would any of these things have stopped an NFL team from having them associated with Hernandez? You bet.

I found it to be rather ironic on the day that FS1 launched, most of the industry's eyes were focused on NBCSN and their debut of the Premier League.
Outside of a post on AA and another on Deadspin, I didn't even know when Speed officially turned to FS1 (and apparently neither has my DISH program guide, which still lists it as Speed). It made little sense to me to flip from Speed to FS1 when the majority of the programming until UFC was, indeed, racing. Why not flip it in some grand fashion when 'UFC Fight Night' began at (I think) 7p ET?
A complaint I have with FS Live is, not being a UFC fan, I flipped over at 11pm...only to find the show already ongoing (I assume the fights ended early). Rather than re-set at the top of the hour (a la SportsCenter), they stuck with the script.

Forget the swearing...the guy's delivery is horrible. And is it just me, or does he have a lisp? If I knew it was that easy to break into TV news (albeit in Bismarck), I would have eschewed radio for the small screen.

I'll go on a limb and say that if you're calling junior hockey for a living, well, chances are, there's a reason why you're still calling juniors and not even the SPHL.

Spurrier is just pandering to the rest of the SEC fanbase- you know, the ones that feel disrespected when a network or radio host DARES to acknowledge the existence of any other team.

Nope. The reason why? The middle tier of programming on DISH doesn't offer NBCSN. Sorry, but I'm not ponying up an extra $20/mo for (literally) the only channel I'd watch on the top tier.

I think most of us anxiously await the day when FS1 and NBCSN finally threaten the ESPN throne. I don't find it to be a coincidence that seemingly, they can't keep talent to save their lives right now. Andrews, Beadle, Jenn Brown, Rome, Bucher, Dana Jacobsen have all left within the past 16 months.

The simple fact of the matter is that I don't know a single hockey fan who has turned to ESPN for highlights or coverage in the last decade.
Now that NBC/NBCSN has broadcast rights, now that NHL Net is readily available on cable and satellite systems...there is no need for ESPN to BOTHER covering hockey. In the same way I won't sit through 20 minutes of Tebow-Lakers-Michael Jordan talk for 20 seconds of Jets-Lightning highlights, non-hockey fans likely won't sit through 3 minutes of hockey to get to the latest Dwight Howard trade talk.
The four-letter network has become less about the sports itself, and more about the tabloid stories and speculation surrounding the sports.
