What happens if they rescind the major?  A simple stat correction?  5 min less in penalty minutes for Kreider and the team?  Is there more or less to it?

@Herman_NYRBlog We are well past the era of the "goon".  The league is at the point where if you can't hack it with a shift on the ice, you're time here is limited.  The fighting does however keep the overly physical play of some in check.  Much like the extra elbow padding in baseball.  If you're wearing 6 inches of plastic, you're not going to think much about stepping into a pitch.  Take away that padding and actually feel it. . .you'll think twice  before crowding that plate.

The fact of the matter is that if Asham is picking on a guy like Kreider, you have guys like Boyle, Prust, and Rupp that remind him to keep it clean.

You're crazy!  You can't start putting limits on this stuff.  Anytime something like this is introduced, it only opens the door to more regulation.  It all becomes the slippery slope argument.

There are 2 people who should worry about the frequency of a fight.  The player and the coach.  That's it!  The fight isn't out there for spectacle, it is out there for strategy.  For protection.  It's a game changer that you can't risk losing because you're worried about hitting your cap.
